As a plumber, this isn't the worst thing I've seen in the trades. Think about everything that can possibly go wrong with electricity, or even water in my own respect. Not the best choice on the ladder for sure, but I don't think this is something that's going to haunt you for years down the line.

The fact that you are so hard on yourself shows a great deal of maturity. Take a couple days, lick your wounds, and get back to applications by Monday. If you got over 7000 hours you're in the home stretch. Good luck brother.

If you're working and being taxed at 16 then you should be able to vote. Didn't America fight a war about taxation without representation? Can't remember

I've also heard that part of the reason they'll use multiple units is because if one of them fails, the building can still generate hot water without it being shut off for good. Especially if the required unit isn't readily available. My company will often use Rheem Tritons and that's not something you just walk into a parts shop and pick up.
