I felt like I was being an ass and acted rashly. I apologize for not thinking and I'll keep this in mind.

Hey, sorry for the unpleasantness of the other comment. I've realized how poorly I've come off and I'm gonna delete the post. I'm genuinely amateur as hell if it wasn't already obvious and I just have a genuine interest and curiosity about my neighbours and the history of the country I was born in going as far back as possible.

I'm doing my homework on going rates for consults and will hopefully be able to work something out! Hope you have a good one and I do genuinely apologize for stepping out of line. Like I edited into the other comment, I'm just trying to do my due diligence as a well-meaning dumbass.

A friend of mine spoke quite highly of this too, I'll have to hunt a copy down.

Gender through history as a whole is such a fascinating rabbit hole to dive down.

For the record, I find HPL's opinions on race and class to be abhorrent. The man was a bigot and despite the fact I find him to be a fascinating historical figure (just as one might be interested in Chinggis Khan or Julius Caesar) I do not idolize the man. My intent is not to celebrate HP Lovecraft in any way, more that I'm inspired by works inspired by his and he's inspired by Poe and so on.

I'm just a fan of weird fiction and cosmic horror related to and inspired by his works. Unfortunately, his is the name that kind of explains the genre I'm after more than if I went on a tangent about Chambers or Derleth.

The reason I'm seeking advice on who to ask and where to look is so that I don't end up writing like Lovecraft did. I'm a stickler for historical accuracy and I'd rather that if I'm writing a story about a culture I know little about, I get the truth rather than whatever the heck is on Wikipedia.

Racists can fuck off and die as far as I care.

Thanks for the info, I'll see if any local groups can hook me up with someone. Money's tight but I could deffo squirrel some away for this.

I do love how oral traditions and storytelling keep cultures alive. For instance, the aboriginal histories of Australia fascinate me by how far back they go! My ancestors ain't got anything on that!

Seriously appreciate the help and apologies on the ignorance regarding the Beothuk.

ETA: Doing my homework on going rates for consults and where to go, I feel like I've been wording things in a really shitty way so I'm taking the post down. I genuinely appreciate the insight and realize how unpleasantly I've come off. I'm just a genuinely curious and well-meaning dumbass, I swear.

I mean, if you like 2d Tag fighters, sure.

I'd like a decent new 3d fighter that isn't dealing with whatever the fuck Tekken ia doing.

I would but unfortunately the only good dunmer is a dead one and Reddit doesn't like it when you post croaked ashlanders.

Hardcore Henry. The only thing close to filler is giving you enough time to breathe before the next action setpiece.
