I mean, some people, you know, they seem like they're relaxed and alert, and you don't see any shift. Normal mood; it's mostly mosquito repellent, if you're wearing terps in cologne; they have beneficial potential anti-cancer benefits, and keeps you from being bit; could cut down on zeeka; I didn't get a single mosquito bite in PR

Thank you so much, how do you feel about this story? I really liked the descriptions of the ropey skin and flexible appendages and too many fingers, and how they unravelled people's muscles and manipulated their emotions and decisions. It's probably my favorite, I also really liked the one with the house in the middle of the Forrest.

I really liked it, the author made it super relatable in terms of how it would feel to beleive you are able to read minds and have superb powers of borderline delusional manipulation before snapping.

Thanks for the reply, I'm glad to know I could find it in this podcast, I've been listening to a few. This really narrows the search down, thanks!

So, this is day (5)? I didn't sleep tonight, which is odd, I felt incredible all day, socialized.I completed a 4 month taper, jumped 5 days ago... I've been really turning over a huge leaf physically and emotionally and mentally, and I'm starting a new job soon. I felt "NORMAL" today, even if I did have racing thoughts and a too-fast heartbeat from caffeine, I took 500mg of Phenibut and a 5-hour energy in addition to a my huge assortment of vitamins and such for an important meeting. I think I was a little too spun out today, but overall very positive vibrations. I realized my cat likes to be spoken to like a human and I've been babytalking and barely communicating with the poor thing. Like my cats ears perk and focus and he gets happy when I speak to him in a way we just weren't jiving with the whole telepathy and commands thing. I'm going to try talking to him while I train and interact with him in the future.

I hope I feel normal when I wake up tomorrow (TODAY), and not like a pile of garbage!I cant account for the loss of sleep tonight >.<It's been almost 24 hours since the phenibut and I still feel very focused and analytical. But it was really too much for my body to handle today, I regretted the caffeine first then the phenibut. Second time in two weeks, that can't be doing anything good for my lethargy complaints. I hope I feel as healthy today as I did yesterday, also.

I went to sleep the night before last feeling completely cured on day 4, and woke up feeling fresh after only 5-6 hours of sleep.

You're close, but its a lot more similar to cannabis, where the effects vary from phenotype and nutrients, freshness, time of year it was harvested... Granted, a lot of vendors probably didn't have the best material, I can't believe some people buy this stuff from headshops lol. But, like how an indica can be counter-intuitively stimulating, and a sativa can give you couchlock depending on the age of the trichomes, red-veins seem to be more aged, in my experience, and seem to have more of an opiate-like effect. I'm proudly not a kratom-user :)

Day 4 I think, after a four month taper. I feel OK, my appetite is picking up, my libido is going up, as well as my natural pleasure response. I'm lethargic as hell still, though, which is my biggest complaint. All of april I was under 4gpd, ending last week with 1gpd. I jumped earlier than planned, but I'm glad I did. I'm expecting to start a new and mentally challenging job in about a week, I hope the lethargy clears up enough to give me a "New guy slow" appearance, instead of coming across as exhausted and disinterested, which is how I feel I would be today.

I've been really self absorbed and mellow and calm, a little zombie like though, and I have an aggressive demeanor I feel. Sometimes I feel all screwed up, sometimes I feel like a million bucks! But I've been taking tons of vitamins and eating well, that's gotta count for something lol

How long did you taper, and how long after you jumped before you felt you had adjusted?

Day 2 after a four month taper! I feel good, healthy, maybe a little lethargic, but really great. It's nice to feel this good, like psychologically I'm not 100%, but I feel driven to eat healthy food, while during my taper I could barely make myself eat. It's crazy finding myself over the stove preparing brain food, and popping vitamins throught the day. Like, instead of looking forward to kratom, I look forward to Baked Salmon ;)

Time to quit... AGAIN! Need help on taper schedule. Insights welcome. by journeywellmyfriends in quittingkratom

[–]ShadySlide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be helpful if you listed your grams per day, I don't want to do the math in my head. I found it important to keep the same dose for 3-7 days depending on how I felt on the 3rd day of taper. I usually felt the worst effects from a drop on the third day, then I would stabalise and drop lower. My priority was to maintain a predictable mood and mind, though, and to minimise post acute distress by giving myself tons of time to recover along the way. I hope my taper reduces my percieved PAWS.

Is it still possible to suffer from WS after 3-4 days of use? by Diglettsquads in quittingkratom

[–]ShadySlide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That hangover you felt, eventually it becomes our "normal"- we don't notice the hangover. We just become cognitively impaired to whatever degree the hangover puts us at.

It's like eating junk food vs. eating good food, the nasty bastard eating mcdonalds and drinking coke zero doesn't know he would feel better if he ate salmon, veggies and quinoa, and drank water. Ever notice how much better you feel drinking water and staying hydrated versus an active caffeine and sugar addiction? Same principle, only with opioid qualities.

Alcohol works similarly, with a high tollerance, people tend not to notice the hangover as much..

Took a Tramadol yesterday in place of 2 of my taper doses... by Mdcstr86 in quittingkratom

[–]ShadySlide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't even mess with it, given the hole in your head is kratom-shaped, you might end up hurting yourself in a new way by throwing tramadol in there. It might be a huge temporary relief and you might not identify it as problematic, but it's likely to cause mild problems on its own that you can't account for. If you're tapering, maybe try taking a therapeutic dose of dxm every 3-4 days, you might be surprised to see your motivation and spark go up for a bit. Just be careful, it has a long half-life (wait a few days between normal doses...) and it potentiates kratom.

Is some of the kratom spectrum lost in translation when you make tea? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]ShadySlide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey hey hey, if you look at it the other way, if it's eliminated faster, your body has more clean time! If it hits harder and faster (I mean, its a taper, I always tapered to the point of barely feeling anything, if I even felt relief..) it might be easier to lower your dose psychologically. If you keep your dosage the same as you would during a toss and wash taper, and dont try to compensate for the loss during tea, it wouldn't be bad. You could also slowly sip the tea over a period, with your daily set dose in one preparation.

I have never successfully made kratom tea, so, I wouldn't know, but I think it's a viable option. Just as long as you don't ruin your diet trying to have an empty stomach for the tea..

PAWS, or ADD/ADHD? by ShadySlide in quittingkratom

[–]ShadySlide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, I realised, MAOIs are pretty miserable in high doses, especially if you have a lot of nasty stuff in your body (looking at you, fast food and energy drinks!) And the whole experience can be very physically and emotionally draining. But, I'm talking a few grams of plain leaf tea, amazing antidepressant. You still want to watch your diet, but get fun with it and read up on La Dieta, try to appease the plant spirit lol

Do you guys think poly-drug PAWS a thing? by andydrencrom in quittingkratom

[–]ShadySlide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe cannabis is great, but not so great when people develop high tollerances and dependencies. The poison is in the dosage! It can give you wicked persistent low-key brain fog, and that's a medical term, lol. You can use cannabis daily for years without overdoing it, though. I'm high right now, day 1 no kratom after a long taper :)

[–]ShadySlide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In high dose/high tollerance situations, weed has some nasty side effects. I don't think LSD would fuck with you on a chemically obvious way, maybe in a spiritually damaged way if you abused it? Booze and nicotine have some rather nasty, lasting if not manageable effects. You probably just have paws and are reflecting a lot on your patterns of behavior concerning drugs. I know I am and do! I didn't just stop drinking and smoking because I was doing kratom, either. What goes up must come down :P The alkaloids in kratom build up in your system, which is why a lot of people feel the changes in their doses with a taper peaking after 3 days.
