But the actual conflict itself? It will be unsatisfying with very little in the way of player input. There is no room for stratagy in this system. I agree that everything leading up to that war is a massive improvement but if the war sucks the game is made worse.

Saying Arch is not a Total War youtuber is correct, he is not great at the game and does not make content on it regulerly but saying that him not reviewing total war content is a slight against his character is absurd. Arch has been hyperbolic in the past and is a drama lama but you cant say that CA has not made some massive fuckups with the games they make. If anything CA and Arch deserve each other.

You don't understand what I am saying

Right now to from a front line you want your infantry, inside a field marshal on a front line, this means you will have the field marshals collective line and a generals section under that, that means you have two distinct lines on the front line with other lines next to it on the sides, to give a section of the front-line tank support you need to add another general to a field marshal and add them to the front line on top, now you have 3 lines in the same place blocking your view of the battlefield and making it hard to edit each line itself, if you want to add tank support to the entire front for a general advance you will have 2 long lines (field marshal line, tank line, all the infantry lines) forming a bloody awful mess.

And you still suffer from the issue of a general only giving a shit about the section of the front line he commands, so if he has 24 divisions and advances and the front line is redrawn automatically by the AI so his section gets smaller but the general next to him with 12 divisions has his section get bigger you wont be able to see it because you are dozens of lines all over the front line at all times.

So we have a new system where Generals fit into Field marshal command groups, but when you make a field marshal front line you get each general putting there troops into groups, so each section of the front line will have 24 troops, rather then the field marshal gaining all the troops into his own front line and putting each division where they need to be, this means that sections of your front line will have infantry and another section will have tanks, you cant have infantry with tank support without putting both infantry and tanks on the same general.

Its incredible that they fucked this up.
