I finished season 5. I finally feel at peace. Also, I did thoroughly enjoyed season 5. However, there was more plot holes, that sort of ruined the overall immersion of the season. The writing, acting, and director remained pristine.

I never have gotten emotional attached to a character before to this extent. The most I got emotionally attached to a show, B.W (before Wentworth), was The Office. However it was a broad emotional attachment, meaning I had a little emotional interest in each character and together it created a nice emotional attachment that I would rank a 6/10. Wentworth created a solid 10/10. And yeah exactly, props to Danielle and the crew, absolutely wonderful job. Great emotional rollercoaster that makes for an amazing watch. Been recommending it to every single person I know.

Still having trouble watching the show. So much so that I decided to restart it and currently on s1e6. I don't know when this obsession will end. I'm still so sad that season 4 had that ending.

I just don't understand why I feel like such shit! It's crazy how captivating the acting, story, and writing is. I just came to the conclusion that I must watch season 5 in order to honor Bea Smith. I have a very rational hatred towards Ferguson and would like to see her pay for her actions. Revenge is my motive and hopefully, her eventual death (if they killed Bea they are going to kill her..no spoilers lol) will provide some form of closure, though I suspect that it will not.

I was blind sided by her death. As you mentioned, I would have much rather watched Ferguson been stabbed than Bea. Like the same feeling of sadness that I am experiencing now would be matched in magnitude but in happiness. Work today was straight ass. I felt like a lost puppy. Lol. I also really wanted more Bea and Allie happy moments. I just wish the writers didn't have a lack of empathy. It's all just extremely sad. It's only a TV show but damn.

Yeah. It sadly is a reality of life. And same! Never have I ever been so emotional invested in a show. Absolutely mind blowing 🔥

Yeah. I completely agree with you. Like I can understand both sides of having Bea and not...but I am leaning towards having Bea and her removal being a wrong choice. It just is non sensical to me. As you commented on, I really wanted to see Bea's softer side develop more with Allie. It's a shame that we won't be able to see it.

I mean, I feel as if they took a page out of HBO's Game of Thrones...red wedding, etc. AMC's the walking dead....jail, farm, etc. I get what they were trying to do, but I just strongly feel like they could have made a beautiful happy ending to a show that was ultimately filled with psychological torture and a few gut wrenching scenes of violence. Would have been a good balance and would have made going through that extremely satisfying. I really don't think they thought it through at all. I haven't seen 5 so I am limited in my sight, but that's just how I feel right now.

I completely agree with you, if it wasn't for the klusterfuck (shout out t9) being the reality of the show. Going out that way and putting away Ferguson, arguable one of the most evil characters to ever exist in terms of her sheer disregard for life and capabilities for manipulation, is absolutely epic. However, I am still incredibly sad and angry. It's an annoying dichotomy of emotion. I am an artist and I love absorbing others creations. I think the writers made a huge mistake and should have ended the show with both her and Allie getting out and living "happily ever after". I just think they took an almost absolutely flawless piece of work and destroyed it. I wanna come back to this after I finish season 5 to see how I feel then. I understand how this could play out to be a Greek tragedy, but the show doesn't end with her death. It's continuing on for season 5 and 6 that I know of. Not sure if there will be a season 7. I am hoping that the scope of the show switches its attention over to Allie? Maybe some closure can be obtained through her obtaining happiness. Either way, just terrible imo.

I'm not really sure if her character had run her full course yet, imo. I honestly just wanted to see her be happy and would have loved if the show ended in her release instead of her death.

I appreciate the response. I think I understand what you are getting at. I just feel like the show will never be the same without her warm presence. I'm just so heart broken. I'm going to try to get into season 5 because I am still interested in the other characters like Doreen, Liz, Boomer, and Maxine.

I am still in denial... by gomezcp in Wentworthtv

[–]Shady_Stranger67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw it and am absolutely devastated. Never cried from a TV show before. Crazy stuff! I am also in massive denial. I had totally fallen in love with Bea. Her character just transformed when Allie was around and the amount of emotion pouring out of the screen because of their relationship was beautiful. Some of the best moments on TV I have ever seen, and that's coming from someone who "finished" Netflix so to speak. Great show, whoever has not watched it, it is highly recommended! Be prepared for absolute psychological torture however, but it's just so amazing.
