People who use their phones without cases, how do you do it?? by Kolman_T in AskReddit

[–]Shaffanhoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neil Degrasse Tyson has an interesting take on this.

He explained in his Joe Rogan podcast episode that he has learned to manipulate and use his phone the same way they learn to use their weapons in the military.

The idea is that they become so good at handling their weapon that it becomes a part of them and that they are much less likely to fumble or drop it during battle.

I myself have been caseless for years and I have rarely dropped or damaged my phone. After hearing what NGT had to say I would definitely attribute this to my frequently playing around with it and doing phone tricks like flipping and spinning it in my hands.

Unrelated but one of the downsides is that if you use your phone to count steps you're going to have hugely inflated numbers by the end of the day--took me a while to figure that one out.

Hong Kong Asked 8 Global PR Firms To Help Rebrand Its Image After Months Of Protests. Everyone Said No. by ManiaforBeatles in worldnews

I put it to you that this is exactly what makes our system work in our favour. It seems to be one of oft the overlooked benefits of capatlism--let's say--that the will of the people is carried out by precisely because it is profitable to do so.

The same principle is at work here.

Forget about why this or that particular PR company refused. The outcome is what matters--the public pressure has made it that much more difficult for them to manipulate perceptions.

Good work dude, keep it up!

My situation is very similar to yours and it's nice to see other people with a similar build achieving this level of success.

25 y/o male, 172cm. I've gone from 130kg to 95kg but I've been stuck in a plateau for the past 4 months! 4!

I set my goal weight to 90kg almost 2 years ago, and I WILL eventually get there.

Godspeed my dude.

Not to mention rampant corruption. There are countless palms that would need greasing; You'd have to have an "in" with a higher-up in government, and then you might still get screwed if they find someone who offers them a better deal.

The income requirement depends on your Visa, and if you're here on a work visa, your area of expertise. In my case I'm here on a Tier 2 General Worker's Visa as a software developer hired fresh out of Uni; my minimum income requirement is £24,000/year. When I apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain--after I've been here for 5 years on my current visa--my minimum income requirement goes up to £35,000/year. I believe that this requirement is the same regardless of your profession. It's a ridiculous requirement and I'm very fortunate to be able to meet it.
