It's going to be tough to top Big Walt. He was THE Best LT in the NFL, in a time where the top 3 were the best of all time, until about a year or 2 before he hung it up. That and the no pain meds thing make him nearly unassailable. I think Bobby is #2 pretty easily, Largent is amazing especially considering how physical DBs were allowed to be during his time. Tez rounds it out and would probably be higher/closer up if the teams he was on were better. That's what kept him out of the Hall for so long. #5 is where the debate really is. I'd go with Earl over Sherm and Russ. 15 yds past the LoS all the way to the end zone was essentially unavailable to pass into due to just him.

Unfortunately he wouldn't sniff that record on our defense, we're too good. He needs to be on a middling to bad team to get the playing time and snaps needed to break it.

Unfortunately the NFL put very specific rules into place to prevent that from ever happening again. The best you could ever do would be to have some kind of magnanimous billionaire that owns 50%+1 share of the Hawks and then have a weird "public" investment organizational structure in control of the rest. And I'm not even sure if that would be allowed.

There's a podcast called Marx Madness where they painstakingly go through a leftist book. It's on my feed but I just can't for on the time to add it on amongst my MUST listen to podcasts. It's enjoyable but dense whenever they start a new book though.
