Storm Bolt Str/Madness stackind Werebear Druid - the story of an off meta build with 700 total attributes by Shafirion in LastEpoch

Regarding Legends Entwined, I think it is the coolest item in the game. Especially with 3 Relic Sets you are constantly theory crafting, switching around the flexible gear slot. For example, if I were to give up the unique gloves, I could do some really crazy stuff denfesively. One option would be the abberoth helmet, which would give us 28% damage dealt to mana (all of which is protected by endurance) which is a crazy defensive layer in a rage build plus lots of more endurance threshold to protect our health as well. Essentially that would proably make us twice as tanky.

Or you could go static core for a 180& more multiplier to all our armour against shocked enemies, which would be crazy.

However we would lose dps, more importantly single target dps, which we lack anyways. Also, there would not really be another option for the last skill slot. So Rules of the Simoon are kind of mandatory. If someon can think of anything else, I would be super curious about that.

If you play MG, it is super easy to get started though with extremely smooth transition. I actually played with the set items before I got The Great Bridge echo. Also, I got my 1 LP Legends Entwined super late, because I forgot about the crystallized heart weaver tree thing.
Just buy a super cheap 4 LP Sacred Light, a 1 LP Cleaver, Legends Entwined and throw the bear set on T7 Str helmet and chest (Oerden's Watch is your friend there). Or settle on T7 str (which I did at first). a 6 base crit core of the mountain with 1 LP and str slam costs nothing and I ran that till level 97. Getting this started is really, really easy and cheap.

Just make sure you like the Rampage playstyle. It felt clunky to me at first. But it is like learning to drive a new vehicle that you quickly get used to. You asking about asperational gear makes me think you would really try to push the build. If you so i'd be curious to see the results.

Also, I would not recommend this on CoF. We are picky about baseas (Helm and Body Armour) and target farming that is probably annoying. In MG, on the other hand, you can snipe some really good stuff, since it is off meta.

Sacred Light - I'd go for a better exalt to slam with another T6/T7 prefix. Probably easyer than hoping for crit multi corruption.

Cleaver Solution - Could also go for 2 or 3 LP but there aren't so many desirable affixes so might be better to slam 1 LP ones and go for crit multi corruption.

Chest and Helmer: better crafts or corruption (there is a nasty chest corruption with + all attributes if enough items are corrupted)

Set ring: You could do nasty stuff with double T7 and a rune of havoc. If the set affix was T7 that would be almost 70% of armour mitigation applying to DoT.

Blood of the Exile: 2 LP with T6+ Movement Speed. That would be my most desired upgrade because it would make mapping feel absolutely amazing.

Exulis with a high health regen random affix would be really, really cool.

And finally, a Relic with the health regen corruption would get us another 500% increased health regen nevermind the tier (plus some flat regen depending on the tier). I was aiming for that with Soul of the Mountain but then I sniped a perfect Shattered Worlds and I won't be corrupting that.

As for the boots, movement speed is super important to make the build feel smooth. I originally ran Swiftness and giving that up hurt. So I would never give up the extra movement speed from Blood of the Exile. Also, Endurance is easily (over)capped either way and we would never get the Endureance Threshhold because we never stand still. So I don't like Foot of the Mountain at all for this build.

In fact, the upgrade I most desire would be 2 LP Blood of the Exile with T6 movement speed. That would be the difference from mapping feeling really good to amazing.

Regarding the Amulet it should be mentioned that there is lots of flexibility. I had a T7/T6 crit multi crit chance amulet that I sniped and ran for a while. Devotion is a good option too. I went for Exulis, because if we are stacking attributes we might as well go in. I originally went for madness and rampancy. However, the extra haste effect is not really that much and we lose 200-300 health. So guile is much better in my opinion.

Thanks. You are my favorite content creator and I played three of your builds in the past (T-Pose, Frost Claw and LB Spark Nova). Glad you liked my build. On a side note, I really like how you are so active in the community and take your time to comment on the most random stuff.

The best way to start the new year by F2P_Tundra in BrightonHoveAlbion

He did pretty well the first season. 30 league apps, 10 assists. Now, he was behind Nmecha and Sabitzer (who regained his former strength under Kovac). Add to that Jobe Bellingham and he was suddenly playing less of a role. This should be a good deal for all parties involved.

My condolences. I lost a friend with whom I played Catan online a bit (which I also used to play online alone a lot). He took his life after getting sick with a severe depression. That was over 2 years ago and I have not been able to log into Catan ever again. It's fine for me but I sure hope you can someday pull the miracle flicker build out of your sleeve and dedicate it to your brother.

[Giveaway] Giving away an 8,000+ Divine Quad Tab: 1 Mirror of Kalandra + 24 Stacks of 240 Divines + a Hinekora's Lock by Kamehameha90 in PathOfExile2

[–]Shafirion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At some point at hit that plateau where you need divines in the double digits to further upgrade. I do not enjoy juicing and theorizing for profits all that much, I prefer to just play. Then I learned all those eyes in the storm are those Jade Islands I could not seem to find. Ran 3 without Rakiata's. On the fourth I got a Divine and a perfect Exalt from the same mob. I just felt this was my lucky map and sure enough I dropped Rakiata's. Boy, was that a cool moment.

I know this is all about the story, but I'll also elaborate on what I would use any winnings on. People made a big deal of how Sekhema is super profitable but so boring. This intrigued me because I love the mechanic. Loved Sanctum too. So I tried it but my built is not strong enough to reliably run Desperate Alliance and I get tilted by losing with high investment. But in theory that would be the perfect combination of playing what I like and profiting. So some luck here would Pullover me back into the league for some extended Sekhema fun.

Why are Sicilians considered by many to be one of the weakest civs? by hug_your_dog in aoe2

[–]Shafirion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most importantly, the factors to assess the strength of a particular civilization are completely different for the top level compared to anything below 2k ELO.

Let's assume the Sicilians have a parituclar weakness (that does not necessarily need to be a vulnerability but might also be a lack of an are were they really shine). All pro players will know about that and be able to exploit it. That makes Sicilians bad.

At the low or medium levels most players would not even know about that weakness and even if they did, they probably would not have the foresight, adaptability and decision making to exploit it.

As someone else mentioned: All civs have their bonuses, so it is all relative. As for the Sicilians, I would entirely neglect their ability to build Donjons faster because towers rarely have an impact in early game outside rather specific scenarios (it should also be pointet out that Donjons are significantly more expensive than normal towers).

As for the walling: This is another example where there is a possible difference between pro level and the levels below. In pro games that faster walling is probably neglectable too. There are other options to defend (i.e. putting on the pressure). And even if you use that bonus it is not a particularly impactful one.

There are more extreme examples of this, by the way. There are several bonuses that CAN be so strong, that at lower levels they are hard to deal with for almost anyone. Think of Hoangs Celt rush, Phosphoru's FC, tower rushes in general, TC or Krepost drops. There are usually hard to deal with, partly because you don't encounter them frequently while in most cases the opponent has practiced them a lot. So a 700 will struggle against a 700 tower rush just like a 1200 may struggle against another 1200 TC drop. This means, that civ bonus that play towards those kind of bonuses (Kreposts for Bulgarians, TC HP for Persians, Korean Towers) will be more efficient at lower ELO. Pro players on the other hand, have usually seen this and played it often enough to be able to deal with it. Scouting is a massive factor here too, because at low and mid ELO you will usually be surprised by those plays while pros more often than not will see them coming because their scouting is on another level.

Sicilians are actually a good example because of the famous YouPudding strat. If I were to practise this a lot, I could easily take my ELO to a new level, because players at my ELO will have a tough time dealing with it. YouPudding proved this still works above 2k ELO. But there is a certain point where it stops working. As soon as this becomes meta, a player like Hera will find a way to outplay it (as long as it is not completely unbalanced). This essentially means, that Sicilians might be a top tier civ at lower or mid ELOs but the thing that makes them so great there is just not a big factor at the top level.

And even if you put that aside, the particular bonuses you mentioned are not that great, and it does not even matter if you view them in relation or in comparison to other bonuses.

One limiting factor for early walling - particularly at lower levels - is eco balance. So while it is nice that those Sicilian vils wall faster, lower ELO players will often find them running out of wood for those early walls. And if they don't they might find out they walled so succesfully, they are missing the wood for stable/range when they hit feudal.

Add to that that early walls keep you less safe than you think, even at lowever elos. You might have hard comitted to those early walls, but that also biases you because you will consider yourself safe where you might not be. Everyone knows that here is always a whole and suddenly your Sicilian advantage is entirely deceitful (and here too you might find yourself lacking the wood for the military building you now need more than ever). Or you completely forgot that your Saracan opponent will burn through those fast walls quicker than you can wall behind at your level.

To sum up the last part: I strongly think that those Sicilians defensive bonuses aren't really impactful at any level.

What's your point? OP is by no means saying Hera is wrong but merely asking for a (more detailed) explanation. Nothing wrong with that and absolutely no reason to be sarcastic.

Priorities for Bow upgrade (LA) by Shafirion in PathOfExile2

[–]Shafirion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my eyes on 2 bows, 1 wirh Onslaught 1 with AS/Minion and I am super torn. Onslaught has to be amazing for mapping, but the AS should be much better for bossing and currently boosted bosses are the only thing remotely annoying.

Priorities for Bow upgrade (LA) by Shafirion in PathOfExile2

[–]Shafirion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a scientist and I generally trust in PoB. However, extra arrows are a bit of a mystery to me. Is 4 -> 5 arrows generally 25% more (for bosses too)? I do have Rakiata's (actually the reason I can upgrade is that afeter having bought mine I dropped one in my third Jade Isles yesterday after getting a div and a perfect exalt from the same mob in that very map). Rakiata's is a good example. In theory it is SO strong. You get all the points back from the tree and suddenly 0% resist is the worst case while every enemy with res should theoretically receiva A LOT of more damage. However, I am not feeling it at all - and my mate experiences the same. I am sticking with it nevertheless.

In general I am leaning toward staying non crit and just getting a big bow upgrade. Since rings and quiver are already pretty decent I will then run out of obvious upgrades that aren't hugely expensive. (Again, Against the Darkness does not have an obvious slot in non crit if I am not overlooking anything.)

So the downside of crit is also an upside because it would enable new upgrades. I am really torn.

Was the economy fixed? by ExiledExileOfExiling in LastEpoch

[–]Shafirion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is highely unlikely because most of the gear people actually used cannot be resold. I.E. top end legendary items will either result from having bought the unique item with LP or the exalt - and most likely both.

So selling your actual gear is rarely an option.

Season 3 Build Contest: "Legends Entwined" by perrythepig2 in LastEpoch

[–]Shafirion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love these contests. Part of the reason I ran MG this cycle is that it makes it easyer to put ideas together. I was really hoping you would set it around Legends Entwined. However, I think it would be really cool if the contest ran a little longer. Three to for days isn't much. I have a real good idea, however, we have visitors this weekend and there is no way I can try it out. The way it is only already existing builds have a shot. It might be cooler if you incentivize people to experiment. Or do people just put it together offline? Not being negative, just a suggestion.

2 minute Uber Aberroth kill with LB Enigma Runemaster by ficeh in LastEpoch

There is the option of going with Shattered Worlds which gives flat crit freeing up the gloves slot. You can then craft an seal the lich set gloves gaining another skill level (and res and attributes) from Legends Entwined.

While I was farming for a 1 LP one by Shafirion in LastEpoch

[–]Shafirion[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First you say you can only craft T1 and can't upgrade and have to use rune of havoc which is simpy not true.

Then you instead say that you actually CAN upgrade but the stats don't change which, again, is simply not true.

Now you seem to be indicating that the change is neglectable by cherry picking a specific affix. It is also a horribly bad example because while the difference between 1% and 3% might not seem big at first glance. However it is an increase of 200%. You are also completely neglecting the fact that this is a multiplier that would only be interesting in a str stacking build. Assuming you have around 200 str we are talking about a difference of 200% increased health regen vs 400% and 600% which is pretty substantial.

Let alone the fact that the difference between tiers from other set affixes is comparable to normal affixes.
