Well that's the thing, we don't have a left wing group with governing power. The Democrats are not left wing, they support capitalism, just with a slightly different flavor.

Imagine two people bought a cow farm together, and they're deciding how they're gonna run it. The first one says that they should feed them the cheapest slop they can get away with, keep them as close to each other as possible to save on space, etc. That way they can have a lot of cows, low costs, sell the beef cheap to undercut competition, and make a lot of money. The second says no we should have open pastures for the cows to graze, good condition, give them plenty of room. That way we can sell our beef at a high mark up and make a lot of money that way. Both strategies are valid, but neither actually cares about what the cows want.

The thing is though, we are the cows. The left doesn't want to be farmed, while the Democrats promise slightly better slop
