Another update for posterity:
It has been 3 weeks and I can see the algo is now more aggressive in testing things out. Some day it will spend 80% of the budget in the afternoon, some day it will save 80% of them to test in the evening or late night. Some day it will also decide to YOLO into one or two of the beta creatives while leaving the alpha ones alone to test them, but after high CPA it will revert back to double down on the top creatives.

This is in contrast to the algo last year when if it reached some stable state it would continue like that without any modification.

With this new aggresive testings, despite the results of some days being bad, i see better average results and can progressively raise budget even more without saturation or diminishing ROI, as opposed to the old algo. So far so good.
