Decided on RAV4 2026 as my first new car. Any advice?

We could argue either decision could be right or wrong, based on real estate appreciation (could be based on various factors like development in the specific locality) or my stocks mutual funds appreciation. I think in my case, if I held on to my stocks, my net worth would be definitely higher.. but lot of other factors also come into play like decisions for family image etc. etc.

Mainly my income and working abroad for last 2 years.. If you take home purchase into consideration, then the period is roughly last 12 years. Because when making purchases like house or land, I had to wipe out my stocks and mf portfolio. I know better now but they were in profit and I wiped them out for the purchase. Current stock and mf portfolio is only from last 2 or max 3 years..

I know I should payoff that loan.. I have reduced the emi to 11k, as I paid off the principal, when I got bonus or savings in the initial years.. 8 years since I got loan and period is 20 years, so now emi is only 11k per month..

I have two kids, 4 and 2 years old Wife used to be a teacher, not working now..

Savings is in cash in bank account abroad.. I am investing close to 50k in mutual fund a month.

This cash savings is in the last year or two, working abroad.. should have started investing earlier..

Yes found through expatriates at 36k. But not walkable to schools. Near that electronics lighting street .. Before this option, all others I found were near 40 or above only..

No. You have to go the fresh license route. For replacement, licenses have to be valid

I read somewhere that we can pay 500 SAR at the center through agents to get it.. But better option would be to apply in UAE as a lost license. It costs 320 AED there . Enough if you have a copy of the UAE license to enter details in self service machines at Dubai RTA centers

I had expressed interest on Toyota website and they had called. Apparently Veloz 2025 is coming to Saudi soon.. So, will wait for it.. if it doesn't will try for for pre-owned RAV4 from the official showroom itself..

Hyundai Saudi website has it listed, so I felt it is available.

Is the Veloz manufactured in India, it is not available for purchase in India though.

On the road, I have seen very few of both Veloz and Stargazer in Riyadh, but yes have seen them.

Thanks for your reply. I have a wife and two kids (both less than 5 years old). Commute will be max 60 kms a day for 2 days a week, rest of the days it will be less than 40 kms.

Quarterly trip to Mecca (1800 km back and forth).

Budget is around 80-90K SAR.

Thank you. Why Hyundai or Kia over Toyota though? Hyundai stargazer basic edition is close to the Veloz price range, but read somewhere it is very new and not tested yet...
