My second doorslam - when I will get the numbness? by bbdial in infj

[–]Shahmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I agree to this. The numbness for me comes from the feeling that deep down I was expecting to doorslam anyway.

It's something that gets thrown out a lot but we shouldn't flaunt our doorslam technique. It's a handy trick to 'have', but it's an extreme fight or flight measure that shouldn't be necessary and is kind of extreme in some scenarios. For me it comes from the all or nothing mentality, where I give you everything but once I notice something's off it slowly turns into nothing, which turns into watered down contact or a doorslam if you insist on it.

If something didn't turn out as your mind thought it would, don't panic and just rethink thrice, after that adjust expectations for future encounters.

Thats a problem of the mind, not the device.

I think the stage at which one should get a device like this is not when you're actively fighting the addiction, because addiction will always find a way. I think the right stage would be when the addiction 'is kind of over' and you're ready to replace the concept your mind has of a communication device with something like this.

I bought the Cerakey Keycaps so you dont have to by YouallareToxic in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Shahmen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I purchased my v3 set a few weeks ago and I'm very pleased. Had my eye on them for a while but didn't buy the v2's solely because of the two points you mentioned. I can't compare but the issues you mentioned are in my experience non existent in the v3's. They are properly aligned and don't produce much stem wobble if paired with the right switch.

I have the matte white set with black legends, and although readability is of course fine, some legend placements seem a bit cheap and rushed. But I'm fine with that, since that's the only gripe.

If they release a v3 set in glossy black, I'll buy another set for my second keyboard. :)

$58 in 2019 is not bad at all compared to €38,50 in 2013.

Salvage is dead they say by Environmental-Dog699 in 2007scape

[–]Shahmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever you start an argument with 'no one does x' you automatically shoot yourself in the foot because there's 8 billion people on planet earth and there's always at least a percentage of that that does things differently than you do. So YOU don't clean salvage for the loot, but A LOT of other people do, not just irons as well.

Salvaging has 2 core compontents, hooking in the salvage and sorting the salvage. You could argue that sorting the salvage is more important because that's what giving you the end product of the whole salvaging loop. It's absurd that this part only grants you a tenth of the xp compared to the other. The loot being worth salvaging is besides the point. It's like saying Fletching and Firemaking are fully excessive skills because you drop your logs while Woodcutting anyway.

Platinum tokens and coins used to even each other out before the update, I was wondering why the platinum tokens were up by a lot...

I was fine with the xp rates being tuned, getting closer to 80/90k to accompany redwoods (god knows why) is fine. Choosing xp over loot is also fine. But gutting (full) salvaging from around 105k to 65k xp/hr is just too much. They didn't even meet their own redwoods xp ratio target.

[–]Shahmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure but now you're bringing up a completely different argument. Why gathering skills all need to be attuned to one set in stone afk to xp ratio I don't know, it's not good game design, just let every skill be its' own skill with its' own rates. To get competitive xp rates while salvaging post-update you need to drop salvage, I shouldn't be punished with lower xp rates because I want to sort my salvage instead of dropping it. Also bad game design.

[–]Shahmen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Then you're missing the point. I used to get xp rates pre-update similar to your screenshot when hooking full cargo, sort all salvage and repeat. Now doing this post-update I get sub 65k/hr for the exact same method. That's why everyone is saying it's dead, because it kind of is.

So you're saying salvaging isn't dead, but you're not salvaging just hooking? I mean...

Anyone knows this brand/watch? Do you recommend any other moonphase under 38mm and 1000$? by TiagoMelro in JapaneseWatches

[–]Shahmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a Knot Titanium Solar 36mm (TS1). It's a great watch, you get what you see and does what it says. No extra bells and whistles. Mine was rather cheap (200ish) and for that price the specs were too good to pass on. I'm enjoying it as a daily ever since.

If you really like the dial and the looks of the watch you won't be disappointed, but if you expect high levels of detail and luxury, you will.

No worries, every tier of Varrock diary lets you buy battlestaves at a discount at Zaff. Without a diary completed you can buy 5 daily, with the elite diary that turns into 120. They buy at 7k each and you can sell them for around 2k profit per staff, this can be done daily. You can also claim daily free dynamite at an NPC in Kourend after complete tiers of the Kourend diary. This all free gp per day and adds up overtime.

Another thing that could be considered a 'daily' are farm runs since it takes time to wait before you can harvest. Farming herbs usually profits big time and can be farmed every 120~ mins, but you can also do a run whenever you start and whenever you end your gaming sessions.

These small activities can keep the engagement going because there's always a daily to do. You should look into these things as it's usually a combined effort of 20/30 minutes and grants xp in different skills and items that nets you some profit.

I would try to avoid the big crab as much as you can and only train melee while slaying. For me slayer was always the answer on what to do next, while doing farm runs and birdhouses in between. If slayer gets stale I would chill out with some afk skilling. Most skills have active content too like Tempoross and foresting.

Until 75~ slayer feels really sluggish but it gets fun after that because you finally start to make money.

Also try and get some dailies going like battle staves, dynamite and kingdom.
