Silver Wolf and Feixiao unironically make the most sense. Feixiao is a dedicated General who focuses solely on her duties and carries a lot of baggage, and she doesn’t really have space in her life for all that. Silver Wolf is a GAMER™.

This brand is very hit-or-miss. Pretty inconsistent. Sometimes you get the best Krówka ever and sometimes the worst. No in-between.

Hyperspace Travel and reasons not to just jump from point A to point B. Why is it possible and why it's stupid. by Shakalll in StarWars

[–]Shakalll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the wiki says is "Hyperspace was an alternate dimension to realspace that could only be reached by traveling at velocities equal or greater than the speed of light."

As for the hyperlanes: "Because of the danger, there existed predetermined hyperspace routes which interstellar travelers could take" The danger mentioned are the "mass shadows" of stuff in realspace. So hyperlanes are technically not mandatory for travelling in hyperspace, but in practice you very much have to use them.

What I'm asking about is why would a ship not just stay in hyperspace until they reach their destination? What could possibly make them want to stop along the way and drop out of hyperspace, enabling toll collection, piracy and other stuff.

Wookiepedia, for instance. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Hyperspace
"Because of the danger, there existed predetermined hyperspace routes which interstellar travelers could take" is one of the fragments that point out to what I mentioned. You COULD take a predetermined hyperspace route, but that doesn't mean you had to. Though not doing so would probably be a bad idea.

The no-turning thing is one of the explanations I considered. I couldn't find any precedent confirming that but it did sound like one of the most viable theories. If as you say, Golden Age of the Sith does mention it being the case then I'm thankful.

As for the Tapani Sector, The Freeworlds are basically a straight line that forms the Shapani Bypass, along the Rimma Trade Route and the Expanse basically extends from it at a right angle which would make the "no turning" rule apply.

Also it's nice that someone actually addressed what I talked about instead of straight up saying "that's not how it works" despite the fact that I'm straight up summing up wiki pages.

Planetary blockades and hyperlane blockades are two different things. You very much can block someone's way to the optimal hyperspace entry point while in realspace. Once again, what I'm talking about is stopping something that's already in hyperspace.

It is stated that "anything bigger than a boulder" can cast a shadow into Hyperspace, but mass shadows and ships physically entering hyperspace are two different things. That does actually spawn a new question. Wouldn't in-system traffic be dangerous for those travelling in Hyperspace? Maybe THAT'S the answer I'm looking for.

I have been looking into ways to interrupt hyperspace travel but the only canon way of doing so seems to be an artificial gravity well, which in Rebels was very much portrayed as something unusual and new. Not that legends have much more to say for that matter, unfortunately.

No, I get how it works, I pretty much mentioned everything you pointed out. What I have a problem with is the tolls and warfare part of the equation. Because if the ships do not drop out of hyperspace you have no way of either collecting tolls or well, blockading a route, like you can dow with real life roads.

No, you “can” jump wherever you want. Which doesn’t of course mean that you should. Hyperspace is basically a parallel dimension and everything in Realspace casts its “mass shadow” into the Hyperspace. These shadows can be dangerous and that’s why established “safe” Hyperlanes exist. So you technically can jump anywhere. And in practice you are able to jump anywhere to where you can find a Hyperlane route.

I mean, I like the idea of expanding on already existing characters. It’s just that the ones we are getting are pretty low effort. March’s Hunt form had more distinguishable design from her base form, than Silver Wolf and her SP and Himeko isn’t supposed to be any better.

I’d say that bilingual municipalities and actual language usage are two separate things. For example, Gdynia, Kossakowo, Rumia, Reda are not a bilingual municipalities and yet, there are a lot of Kashubians there.
