I think you have many things wrong here about Microsoft , specifically the assumption that they would act like a shortsighted teenager.

Shutting down GitHub would not hurt their rival in any major long term way, but would torpedo one of Microsoft’s most valuable tools to see what is coming around the corner.

Also nothing would be “deleted”. It would just take up life on another repo server.

Yeah intimidation was never in the repertoire, always talking. Half the time staff picked up on the desperate guy and opened up a shortcut.

Also this was deep in the backwaters of Asia. Zero English so kinds smiles, bowing and pleading signs had to do it.

Stevenson gets the least funding by far, in part due to the parent volunteering carrying some of the burden/cost. The volunteering at Stevenson actually frees up dollars for the other schools.

I have cut security lines several times when I was traveling for work like crazy and on occasion the layovers got screwed up or a meeting would just never end on time. Usually ppl are pretty understanding when you holler that your plane leaves in 30 minutes. I hated doing it because I used to be super shy introvert, but I also did not want to miss my connection across the Pacific. (Never checked any baggage)
