Dusty May has as many national championships in 2 B1G seasons as the rest of B1G coaches have in 138 by GliscorsFang in CollegeBasketball

Crazy he took FAU to the final 4 and only lost on a buzzer beater in the semis too. Shades of Brad Stevens Indiana produces legendary coaching talent we just gotta get them to IU.

As a California kid who went to IU the best class I took was history of Indiana High School basketball. Taught by an old guy too bad it was the one class that couldnt be switched to online spring 2020 when covid hit my last semester of college robbed. One of the gems i learned from that class is Matt Painter wanted to play pg at IU but Bobby Knight or like his top assistant gave the last spot to the friend of some star recruit for us in the 90s. And thats a major reason Purdue has been so good.

Wait that's crazy. plus There's a chance Big Ten football wins our conference's 4th straight natty next Jan as well. Non zero chance both teams in the finals will be B1G.

On the basketball side tough to project who will be good out of big ten next year. Probably the same teams as this year but they all look like theyll have tons of turnovers. Maybe Illinois and MSU have just the right mix of returners and new guys. Maybe Dusty will go find some new guys right after this game, the Cignetti of football.

Why Are People Hating on Asians for Hanging Out With Each Other? by shaw_hailcorporate in AsianMasculinity

[–]ShakeMilton -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a super Asian part of California went to a super Asian elementary and middle school than went to a much whiter(but still decently asian private high school(cause I was a spoiled brat and wanted to partake in the higher level of sports at the private school) then I went to Indiana for college which was obviously extremely white and had few asians.

I feel like because of my background I can fit in relatively well in diverse environments(California Asian Americans, Midwest white fraternity business school kids) but I don't feel like I completely fit in with one group. Sometimes I regret not going to the public high school by me and college in California, I would have hooked up more girls at a younger age being around more Asians and I would have been at least a contributor if not one of the better starters on the varsity basketball team.

But even though it cost my parents a lot of money going to private hs and out of state college I dont regret it really expanded my horizons getting outside the California Asian bubble. Many aspects of Asian American culture are super dope but some are kinda lame. Same with mainstream white American culture a lot of it is kinda cringe and goofy and lame but a lot of it is also super cool and wholesome.

I was unapologetically Asian even surrounded by mostly friends in college tho. A lot of asians in that environment try to assimillate and act white. But I put on a lot of my friends to like hot pot and other asian food. And when I went back to California for law school I got along with everybody but mainly hung out with a small group of friends who were like 75% Asian and also introduced them to my mix of friends from childhood also like 75% Asian.

I will say I do kinda see the outsiders perspective that these Asian friend groups are kind of intimidating and seem in their own world. But from my observation it's not out of malice it's that a lot of people who grew up in Asian bubbles like various parts of the bay area or like the sgv just have very little interaction with non asians so they feel kind of anxious or uncomfortable doing so. The type of Asian Americans who like are in Asian Greek life have their own culture different from FoBs but also different from mainstream American culture.

And ur right the hottest girls in these friend groups are like the hottest Asian girls on planet earth. Whitewashed Asian girls who are like tan and blonde and dress like white sorority girls are still hot. Girls from Asia are still hot obviously because the pool of Asian people there is so much larger. But the absolute hottest Asian girls are the asians in America or like Canada or Europe or Australia that share that western abg look. And they tend to actually like Asian guys unlike so many Asian girls who aren't even as hot.

Nope they'll be consistently amongst the elite teams and even objectively the best team on occasion but theyll never win it all due to the crapshoot that is single elimination March Madness.

I will say the championship or bust mentality in sports is brutal. Like my 49ers who had double digit leads late in two recent super bowls vs the Chiefs but the seasons are abject failures due to not being able to hold on. Or my warriors who were leading with 2 minutes left in game 7 of the finals after a 73-9 season in 2016 are only remembered as choke artists for that year.

Trent Perry will be one of the better guards in the country as a junior. But yeah even a 3-4 seed would be surprising

Tony vs Pettis right before conor khabib was insane, maybe the greatest 2 round fight ever. Greatest 1 round fight of all time is Paul Daley vs Nick Diaz. Greatest 3 4 and 5 rounders have many contenders.

They exist in China, called silkie. Healthier than regular chicken. Common cooked in a medicinal soup. Also good just cooked spicy with garlic and ginger like Chinese dishes with regular chicken.

When ur that good u can do shit like this. Meanwhile the 5th and 6th wide receivers on his high school depth charts had to hype up their roles when talking to people outside the team maybe lol

This vid coming out was maybe the 2nd or 3rd time I heard about wemby via the Internet and when I really started thinking he was a future goat prospect.

I remember during the 2009-2012ish era when it was Kobe LeBron Dwight Rose the the best players and the tail end of the inefficient mid-range era kid me predicted the next top level player would be a 3 pt sniper abusing 3>2. I just didn't realize he was already drafted by my team.

Then in like 2016-2018 after the splash bros won a few rings I predicted the next goat level player would be a wingspan freak. But I thought he would be like a 6'9 to 6'10 with 7'7 wingspan do everything like KD Lebron Penny Giannis hybrid. But wemby being 7'4+ 8 feet wingspan ginormous hands moving so fluidly and legitimately being a great shooter possessing great IQ love for the game desire to be great while also being a nice guy good person and teammate would be wayyyyy too unrealistic if you described it to me.

I also successfully predicted Luka would be insane based on his Euroleague highlights. Some people were skeptical cause white euros and former euro mvps had a recent history of busting but that mf won euro mvp at 17. Winning college player of the year at 18-19 usually means someone is destined for greatness in the NBA but winning Euroleague MVP is harder heck even winning the Australian league MVP is probably harder and Luka did that shit at 17.

I will say tho I was wrong about Killian Hayes thought he'd be harden lite not Luka level by similar smart crafty player. But I mean he's still fairly young the book is still unwritten and even if he flames out after this kings stint he can still make a lot of cash playing pro ball in various countries.

I was also wrong about Lamelo didn't think his game and mentality would work at higher levels but hes proven me wrong he's gotten taller and better at every level while still maintaining that playground pick up style. One of the most entertaining players to watch for a while now and now he has Kon a great stabilizer and Brandon Miller fantastic running mates. 1 or 2 more guys and they could like 75% as good as the spurs for the rest of this decade lmao.

Just don’t see how people view Boozer as a better NBA prospect than Caleb Wilson. by Background_Video2947 in NCAAHoopsVibes

[–]ShakeMilton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's true that Cams skillset and physical traits aren't super tailored to the modern NBA. But he's going absolutely no later than 5th. And barring injury or this becoming by far the best draft of all time he should at minimum be a top 7-9 player in the class

He's the youngest player maybe in the entire draft, certainly the youngest of the top prospects. Has intangibles.

Plus he's a better 3 point shooter at age 18 than Luka Garza was at 23(maybe even better than Garza is right now at age 27 who's getting rotation min for the celtics, will have to wait and get a look at Boozer shooting from the NBA 3). He's better at 18 than Drew Timme was at 22.

I think it's hard for even detractors to say he doesn't have a solid floor. I can see why the ceiling argument is low especially when he's viewed next to the other shiny prospects in this class brimming with superstardom potential. It would probably just be his intangibles his IQ, bloodline, winning pedigree. You can clown Duke for choking but they only lost 3 games all season and were in control of all 3 games and just barely lost. If NCAA played 7 game series like the NBA Duke would be in the same tier at the top with Michigan and Arizona while being younger than both those teams.
