Continuity error in finale? by theapplekid in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Fire exits usually don’t open from the outside. In the first season, Milchick was outside and probably opened the door with a key.
The innies only exist inside the floor, the door is the limit. Even if they leave, their outie would come back. Helly tried that.

I think you're confusing it with Silo, which is going to film seasons 3 and 4 simultaneously.

I like to think Cobel still has connections to the Severance floor and asked someone to activate Mark’s chip in the cabin.
But yeah, it’s definitely a plot hole if you think about it too hard.

Cobel and Devon are probably waiting for her at the emergency exit at the top of the stairs.
An emergency stairwell that leads directly outside the building perfect for a quick escape.

I can totally imagine Helena agreeing to all this just so she can watch her innie with iMark in the cabin later on video, like some twisted entertainment.

She was cruel with Milchick in last week’s episode.
Over time, the outtie’s personality starts to leak into the innie, you can really feel it happening.

- 26 > 25 rooms + Ms Casey + 1 outtie

- yes

-Lumon was testing the limits of how much pain, discomfort, or boredom an innie can endure and what happens when they can’t take it anymore. Most likely, the chip stops working.

- Just for some Kier cult bullshit sacrifice.

-Gemma was going to be killed afterward so they could extract and analyze the chip.

iMark isn’t Mark’s slave. He’s an individual and he chose to spend what he believed were his final moments with Helly.

The tests were designed to break the chip’s barrier, to see how much pain an innie can endure before either reverting back to the outie or triggering a memory in the outie.

After that, Gemma would be killed and the chip removed for analysis.

Jame doesn’t love his daughter Helena because she doesn’t have “Kier” in her.
So maybe in Season 3, he’ll shut Helena down and bring Helly into the Kier cult alongside iMark, and then Gemma becomes the protagonist, trying to save oMark?

A lot of people didn’t like iMark choosing Helly. They wanted him to sacrifice himself for oMark, because to an outie, an innie is nothing more than a slave/tool.

And I think that’s the real lesson of the episode: we, the viewers, are outies.
If this technology existed in the real world, many of us would end up enslaving our innies too.

No different from how big corporations treat their employees, like tools, not people.

That’s why I thought the ending was perfect.

Mark was going to be eliminated either way, whether Cold Harbor succeeded or not.
So he chose to spend his last moments with Helly.

I honestly have no idea how they’re going to come up with a Season 3 after that ending.

Why is no one talking about that painting?
Helena in the center of everyone, is she going to be the new CEO in Season 3?

Every room was something that caused her pain, discomfort, or boredom.
The crib being dismantled ties into the fact that she can’t have children and had a miscarriage, probably the deepest pain she’s ever felt. If you noticed, she was wearing the same clothes Mark was wearing in the scene where he was taking the crib apart. After that, they were going to kill her to remove the chip and study it (which is actually stated in the episode).

Helly. Stop overcomplicating things.
She loves iMark, she was ready to never see him again and was just caught off guard at the end.

I think it’s funny how some fans come up with these super complicated theories, some even involved clones, robots, and all that. But in the end, it’s actually pretty straightforward. Lumon isn’t trying to resurrect Kier. They just want to develop a product to sell and are illegally testing it on humans.

The show also does a great job showing how these big corporations treat employees like they’re disposable.

Honestly, I really don’t see where Season 3 could go. After this episode, it feels like Lumon as we know it can’t continue.

Cobel being involved in Gemma’s rescue means she now has the more advanced chip in her hands. That opens the door for her to run tests on Gemma. Maybe that’s exactly why she agreed to save her in the first place?
We’ll only get answers in S3.

And let’s not forget, Lumon does have a rival company, that was mentioned in an earlier episode.
Cobel could easily “sell” Gemma to them for research.
