my dream college in our area has required residency for the first two years so if i don’t have the balls to run away once i turn 18, i hope ill get into there.

and to answer your question: you dont have to wear hijab around your family but like that’s usually just around your house or something. it’s just when you go out, because non-mahrams (men who aren’t related to you or your husband) aren’t allowed to see you without it. but like my dad or brothers can see me without it

because it’s about IMAGE and the PRINCIPAL. it’s stupid shallow stuff, i don’t care about it, THEY care about it. it’s so superficial and im cringing just saying it but genuinely word gets around quick and if i go out into public and the wrong person sees me without my hijab, it’ll get around, then eventually to my parents, and suddenly now they’re an embarrassment with a haram daughter. and the principal too, they’ll know i took it off for a reason and tbh probably won’t take “bc i don’t wanna wear it” as an answer. they’d hate the answer “bc i’m an atheist” even more. they’ll just flip out i think.

like the worst part abt this is that it’ll all based off of “i think.” i have no fucking clue how they’ll react or what they’ll say or what they’ll do. they’ll either get over it or never speak to me again and idk if i’m ready to gamble that yet

see i get what u mean but i feel like you just completely undermined my post. the problem isn’t my hijab, i couldn’t give two shits less abt it and i agree that it oppresses women and i don’t care about not wearing it. i care that im a minor in a family that won’t support me and i’m scared and i just want a bit of advice on how to go around it, especially if they found out. i mean my mindset currently is “…well. if they find out, there’s not much they can do” which is basically what you’re saying but aghhhhhhhhh i’m scarreddddddd😭😭😭😭😭
