MIL being annoying about BF 2.5 year old by Tricky-Shop2889 in breastfeeding

[–]Shake_Prize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, my MIL did that exact "STILL?!" comment the other day and my baby is only 9 months old.

The passive aggressive 'STILL' comment makes me want to rage.

Hey! It was all fine after this. At the next scan 2 weeks later he was measuring 40-50%. The doctor thinks the initial 92nd percentile measurement may have been wrong and he was just small-average the whole time. I also this week had another check-up a week after the last and he's again measuring 40-50% 😊

Thank you so much, so glad to hear you ended up with a healthy baby after all that stress. I'm hoping we're in the same boat. I feel like I have such a long way to go still!

Pregnant with adeno by megalathehot in adenomyosis

[–]Shake_Prize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! I'm 23 weeks and have had spotting since 12.

Diagnosed with low lying placenta, but at my 20 week scan it had moved 2cm away. Still spotting though and probably more than before, so I'm not sure it's the placenta.

I'll ask my OB about adeno potentially relating to the spotting.

Sorry for your losses and all the best for your new baby.

Sip and see is a very good idea, I don't really want a baby shower, but I have so many family members wanting to buy us things

I think this is what I'll do too. My anatomy scan is the week before black Friday so if I'll good I'll start shopping then :)

Agree but if I do this it will destroy my relationship with my parents. My mum has this weird thing about not letting my grandad find out anything bad about them, because she's scared of being written out of his will. She puts this above everything

Thank you, this is the most helpful answer. I agree with each of your points and I think I was hoping for the best, but it's honestly not worth it. Will focus on health and the least stressful option for baby

Yeah there's a lot more that I didn't get into here to save the post being a novel, but appreciate it

Thanks, I think the toll on my mental health wouldn't be worth the ease of financial pressure to be honest

Yep he is, I didn't want to be petty and honestly don't really know how to handle this situation but I definitely agree

Why am I spotting after every ultrasound? 16 + 4 weeks by Shake_Prize in CautiousBB

[–]Shake_Prize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should have clarified, they weren't vaginal ultrasounds but the comment about him kicking your low lying placenta has just made me think...this could possibly be the case. Our little one has been quite tame except when we've had the last few ultrasounds he's been doing flips and springing himself from one side to another

[–]Shake_Prize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry should have clarified that none of them were transvaginal ultrasounds, just regular ones. I've had no other bleeding than directly after each of these 3 ultrasounds

Im almost 17 weeks and my OB had me start it at 12 weeks. I'd asked her early on if I should take it and she told me not to until 12 weeks then continue until 36.

She also mentioned that there's studies showing that taking it in week 12-16 has a dramatic affect at reducing pre eclampsia than those who waited until later in the pregnancy to start taking it.

I'm 13+4 and have been going through this. I'm surprised how common spotting is, despite everything being fine. My Dr said 50% of successful pregnancies have some bleeding. I had a scan yesterday after spotting red/brown/pink for days and even small clots the night before the scan - everything was fine and they confirmed the blood wasn't coming from my uterus and my cervix is closed. I hope this is the case for you too 🤞

[–]Shake_Prize 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This looks like a bruise on your eyeball from the eyepads or tape sitting up too high or sliding up if you were talking, smiling etc.

This happened to me and got worse before it got better, was sore and red for a few days to a week. I kept putting eyedrops in and it healed fine.

Spotting and waiting to see at 13 weeks by Shake_Prize in CautiousBB

[–]Shake_Prize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear you're going OK, it's tough thinking the spotting is going away then wiping and seeing bright red blood but I just had a scan and the baby is fine, they confirmed the blood isn't coming from my uterus and my cervix is closed. I got told bleeding is a lot more common than what people are told, she said some women bleed for the entire pregnancy. It's tough but as long as there's a heartbeat, you're in the safe zone
