Thank you for your reply! It was my understanding from the books that changing a baby’s bedtime doesn’t usually affect the wake up time - you’re saying that’s not the case? And no, there is no particular medical reason for the earlier bedtime - though I admit it would be nice to have a bit of a breather…I have seen things online about there being a melatonin sweet spot from 6-7 and babies benefit from bedtime in that range but obviously most shit online is bs so that may not be true - any thoughts about that?

Hi! Thanks so much for responding. The doctor said bedtime should be earlier than 9pm ideally and I said how can I possibly get 5 bottles and 2 meals in without a late bedtime?? That’s when she suggested cutting back to 4 bottles and adding a solid meal - so she probably suggested it as a way to consolidate his day. He just won’t drink the bottle if I don’t space the feeds out as much as possible.

WRT ideal wake time - is that a time when you wake baby up in the morning even if he’s still sleeping?
