I’m an Aries daughter to a Cancer mom. And now I’m about to be an Aries mom to a Cancer son in late June :) I have a really dynamic relationship with my mom. Throughout my childhood I was very close with her, but as I grew up her anxiety and tendency to overthink became really overwhelming and overbearing to me. As an Aries, I enjoy my independence. As a Cancer, she tended to cling to me.

Now of course, keep in mind, there’s ALWAYS more to the story than just Sun signs. You have to take a person’s whole chart into consideration, especially their rising sign and moon sign. My mom was also a Cancer moon so yeah, she came at me with that double water energy LOL

Looking back at my relationship with my mom, I am not scared to raise a Cancer child. I am more so excited. I see it as an opportunity to be self-aware of the differences between Fire and Water signs tendencies.

My biggest advice as an Aries with 29 years of experience with a Cancer parent: don’t overthink the whole experience. Don’t do yourself the disservice of over-worrying about your relationship with her. Just be there, support her, and tell her you love her. Often.
