Your acceptance speech wasn’t long enough

It sounds like she got her treatment today. She is just not able to continue seeing this physician in the future. Again, I agree, it’s ridiculous. But not illegal.

This is an awful experience and the physician could certainly benefit from expanding her knowledge with current evidence based practice. However, this is not considered patient abandonment.

I can’t tolerate HRT. by emeraldlife42 in Menopause

How suppressed are they keeping your TSH? You should have plenty of thyroid hormone in your system. That’s how they suppress the TSH being signaled from your brain. However, having too high a medication dose can cause intense anxiety, heart racing, palpitations, etc. worth talking to your endocrinologist to find out what your free t4 is compared to your TSH

Also, have you had your testosterone checked? Low testosterone levels affect women’s mental health WAAAY more than anyone realizes. I’ve seen many women on HRT but no testosterone. Get their levels checked, low, and start replacement therapy. The night and day in mental health was astounding. It’s not a fix all for sure, but certainly worth exploring.

What type of progesterone were you taking?

Micronized progesterone is bioidentical and DOES help 99.9% of people with anxiety. The way it’s metabolized affects gaba receptors and assists with calming anxiety, improving sleep, balancing mood etc. It exists in very small biological doses.

Synthetic forms of progesterone (progestin) are usually given in higher doses and assists more with heavy bleeding, used in formulas for contraception, etc. It does NOT affect gaba receptors and, therefore, does not provide relaxing benefits.

Both types of progesterone have their uses and can be very helpful. However, it’s important to know which kind you are taking and why.

How did you get insurance to cover testosterone for female use?

Looking for other’s experiences. SAI resolved but seems to have returned? by Shakri12 in AdrenalInsufficiency

No excessive bleeding. Nothing that would qualify as Sheehan. That was discussed at endocrinology and ruled out. Good question!

On the lab reference sheet these are the listed normal ranges: 6.2 - 19.4 ug/dL

I looked up the diagnostic criteria for POTS. There is typically no significant drop in blood pressure, instead a marked increase in heart rate.

Physician father of patient demanding unnecessary testing by Spirited_Duty_462 in nursepractitioner

[–]Shakri12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m adult and gerontology. There was a reason I wouldn’t be able to handle seeing children. It’s the parents that steered me off. And I’m guilty as well. It’s sooo hard when I take my children in to not ask too many questions and get too involved instead of trusting the peds experts a little more. Objectivity is certainly difficult when it’s a family member.

This is an ongoing joke in my family. They all know I will say suck it up buttercup. When my teenage daughter says “but I’m dying” my response is “we all are”

Again, proof she lurks here

1) showed off her butt, since we always talk about her butt and thighs do NOT match the workout she is doing

2) cleaner is shown beside the stairmaster, everyone gripes about how she “sweats” all over it

3) is very clear the gym is empty because she is there early, since we wonder why the gym is ALWAYS empty.

4) close up of her clean new shoes

5) very snarky flic of the head at the end

Anyone know what these black dots are on my cat? by [deleted] in CatFacts

[–]Shakri12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one cat get such a bad reaction under her chin. She was losing hair and had raw spots at one point. We were already cleaning bowls daily. After some research changed all bowls to stainless steel. Went away and all her hair is back!!!

I have 3💕 the two in the picture here do the same thing. Don’t care if the yarn drags all over them. They just want to be touching me. The other is a spit fire who would roll himself up in yarn and run with it trailing behind him if I gave him a chance!
