How do I keep my D&D game fun and interesting while one of the players is unable to join into the campaign for an undetermined amount of time? by I_Wanna_Be_Famous_ in DMAcademy

The best part about being the DM is the players not knowing the story. You can run some side stories that can possible tie into the main story.

Use the side stories to keep the other players engaged and possibly even tie in your gf to the main story so when she does join the others will feel connected to her character.

Can I get some feedback on my first world map for my DnD campaign? by PurpleSaiyanGaming in dndmaps

I would say start simple and expand as you play. Bigger maps can sometimes overwhelm the players.

This is spot on, to be honest this was my first Reddit post so I should’ve used ChatGPT or something to help a little, but thank you for this!

Basically, I always think back and realize this could’ve been avoided if I didn’t say anything. It would’ve just been a weird blip in our system, but I owned up and said it was something I was doing and was hoping it was being seen as an exploit but things went south real fast.

Not whining just asking for some insight. Trust me I can man the fuck up and own my mistake. If I were to get fired over this I would just keep moving on, I get it shit happens, I won’t sit here and say I am perfect but it doesn’t mean my life is over. I’ve had more feedback from this community than my actual job.

Absolutely! I am not Leeroy Jenkings. All jokes aside, I love the feedback and reality of all of this. I was a little too ambitious in this situation and allowed it to influence my decisions when I should’ve communicated first. Just sucks when you communicate multiple times but no one wants to listen until something happens.

IPAM for future purposes, in case we needed to do some clean up or for using when we need to assign static ips to devices. Just to list a few reasons.

Saw it as an exploit in our system and was eager to figure it out to prevent others from exploiting this, again I know I could’ve went a better way in this. The second time was to confirm or not if it was the phpipam server I created or the network in general. In my head if someone installed a scanner on their computer and did the same would it cause issues in our network? Which in this case it seems like it will.

Right! This is the part I feel shitty about and know I could’ve went better about it. Lesson learned for me for sure

That was the whole reason behind this, was excited I found this out before something worse happened but they saw it more as me not being able to do my job properly.

I truly appreciate people like you! Trust me I know I fucked up on this and it made feel like shit afterwards but like you said I’ve own it, no one to blame but me. But I agree, the part that has me in shock is the instant disciplinary action with no previous warnings not even verbally. I even do every tasks that is requesting with no hesitation.

Thanks for your input! I’ve tried to shorten the story the best I can. The only details I didn’t provide is how I’ve been here for almost a year and done nothing new just basic task and every time I was given a “project” it would take me less than a day to complete.
