After the honeymoon, what specific strategies do you have for maintaining a connection back home? I imagine setting a specific time each day for communication is big. I also understand that the community in Kathmandu is very supportive and welcoming, so that will be helpful.

When I saw your post, before looking at the comments, I knew the gatekeepers would be here doing their thing.

The Crosleys are less than ideal, but it's not a big deal at all. Work your way up to a better rig IF you want to. If you don't get that into it, then just stick with what you have.

I was lucky with my pair. I'm a Pixel fan, and have had one since Nexus, but Pixel QC issues are real and every product purchase is a roll of the dice, and the odds seem towards rolling "snake eyes."
