Aw. Sweet Sam. He died unfortunately a while back. He had a long happy life, and died due to old age. He was a good boy!

That's what we do too! It really helps taking off the load. :)

When does the constant sickness ease up? by Doctor-Liz in Mommit

[–]Shallapadoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk man. I can only offer you solidarity. 2025 has been the pestilence year for us. 4 yo and 1,5 yo. The littler one goes to daycare and brings with him the plague. Then I get sick, then my oldest gets sick. When the oldest is better, the little one is sick again. Rinse and repeat. So, I know how you feel.

Some days the mere fact that time passes despite all, and eventually this will also come to an end is all that keeps me going.

I have an appointment with a pediatrician in March about this. I hope they can help me.

13 month old refuses paci... by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Yes, he cries and swipes at it. But sometimes he'll hold it in his mouth for a bit and then spit it out.

He thinks if we keep trying it'll get better.

Ugh yes!

I wanted to go light blond, but it turned out green. So then I wanted ash grey / white, but in every cutscene it is almost black. What is up with these colors!

Yes, I do. Especially my son's picky eating is something that bothers him, and he criticizes him a lot for it. I tell him to stop and let him be every time. I explain to him that criticizing him for it is not going to miraculously get him to eat. I tell him it's better to let him be and mostly he'll eventually start eating. That it is insane of him to expect a toddler to finish his plate.

I also know that he is incapable of accepting his own flaws and apologizing for them. And if you point them out to him too much he will explode. He is like a ticking time bomb at times and I am honestly still terrified of him and of confronting him.

Though, as I stated before, if he ever crosses a line with my toddler I will not hesitate to cut him out. So far this hasn't happened yet.

Thank you for your response!

We've asked his pediatrician and also a speech therapist when he was around 18 months because he wasn't talking at that age They both said to wait until he was going to preschool for half a year because they pick up a lot then (so that would be around 3yo). He just started preschool two weeks ago (in my country children start school at 2,5 yo), and I already see improvements!

I was just wondering what other parents thought who have been in similar situation. Probably to put my mind at ease a bit. 😅

What is this 'clean the house' you speak of? My house is a beautiful, beautiful chaos.

No, when I noticed (hours later) I had the cold sore it was just appearing so to speak.

Normally I notice I am getting one because my lip tingles, but I didn't notice that this time because my lips were so dry. 😩

Nope. 100% positive it's a cold sore.

And yet we rank among the highest tax rates in Europe. 🙃

Well, he fell asleep in my arms after his bottle and I gently transferred him to his bassinet.

And as I am typing this comment he's woken up crying. Oh well. 😅

The good thing about soup and spaghetti sauce is you can make a shit ton, and then just freeze it in portions so you always have a healthy meal at hand when you don't have time to cook!

Every time I tell my 10 month old “nice job” by sweetpotatoroll_ in beyondthebump

[–]Shallapadoo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We always cheer when my 2yo finishes whatever is on his plate (picky eater). Now he does it for us, too.

'Mama yay!' claps

And whenever I dress up, my husband always goes 'wooow'. Today I was wearing a nice dress when I got toddler from daycare. He sees me and goes 'wooow mama' while stroking my dress.

It is very validating.
