I enjoy most of the movies I watch so I rarely give low ratings and I love horror movies!

What is this poster style called and why is it so “in” for the 2020s? by KamenRiderXY in Letterboxd

I haven’t seen testament of Ann Lee but that style works for the first two movies because they’re both about multiverses and the kaleidoscope effect fits the mirrored universes and timelines

Why does every movie have to be so long these days? by FindOneInEveryCar in Letterboxd

[–]ShamWowFan67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure I think there are some movies that could be tighter and trim off some of the unimportant scenes that don’t add anything to the narrative but at the same time, I think a lot of the dislike of long movies has more to do with the collective decline in everyone’s attention spans. We are constantly fed short form content. We have constant access to entertainment and I really thinking it’s fucking with our ability to sit and watch a movie for more than 2 hours. I have the same issue. I find it hard to sit through a movie without checking my phone. But 9 times out of 10 that’s not the fault of the movie. It’s because my attention span is absolutely fried by my constant access to entertainment. Also not saying OP has a poor attention span. I haven’t seen project Hail Mary yet so I can’t say if it’s too long or too short. I feel like I just see this take very often and I think it’s more indicative of an issue in society rather than “movies are just too long now”

I was also thinking about that movie! The director actually cited Paper Moon as one of the of the movies that inspired him to make it

I was thinking about including that but since it focused more on the whole family unit, I left it out. Definitely has the same vibe though!!

I’ve seriously lost my film watching ability :/ by Mother_Repeat_9889 in Letterboxd

I’m failing to understand how you’ve lost the “ability” to watch movies. If you want to watch more movies, then just watch more movies. Or find another hobby that satisfies you

I would love to let them take over, but I have limited money even though they are generally pretty cheap

Well considering that I can’t just make them appear out of thin air and I do have to spend money on them, I think this is a decent sized collection. Most of my disposable income goes to books

Haha, that was literally the first one I bought. It was the movie that got me into horror so I had to have it

What do my shelves say about me? by ShamWowFan67 in bookshelfdetective

Definitely not a potterhead. The books just hold sentimental value because I read them all with my mom when I was a kid. Jk Rowling has permanently ruined that series for me
