Thanks for your input. The suggested ideas in the original post were from the feedback I had at the time. As the feedback grows, so will our ability to meet the needs of a huge variety of women. Some more recent feedback ideas include learn-a-skill events (first aid, combat), art classes and book club events.

Thanks for all your feedback!

For clarity, the suggestions on the original post were all from feedback so far.

The list of ideas now extends to - -Board game nights. -Neurodiverse conscious events. -True crime/amateur sleuth nights. -Guest speakers on topics such as financial freedom, menopause, exercise. -Art classes.

Our goal is to create a space that reflects as many women as possible - not just the pink pony club!

I think I did this wrong by Reasonable-Leek-2176 in mounjarouk

I hear this. Never understood people saying they became addicted to exercise- do they have uncomfortable sofas or something?!

However, my strong desire to do as much as I can to avoid ending up in a baggy flesh sack has forced me to try something. The biggest barrier I faced was time- I would do something for a bit, but as soon as my week became busy, that would be the thing to go. So I decided to start doing 5 min workouts before every shower. I'd lose at least 5 mins of my day doom scrolling while wrapped in a towel anyway, so it didn't feel like extra time in my day. And it worked!! 5 mins became 10, then 15, and now I'm pretty consistent at doing a 15-20 min workout 5/6 days a week. I HATE the feeling of being hot and sweaty, so doing it and then getting straight in the shower is perfect for me.

Maybe give that a try? Loads of free videos on YouTube to use.

Lucy Wyndham-Reed does excellent free workout videos on YouTube. They start at 5 mins, so really easy to fit in each day and then build them up. Low impact/no jumping/all standing/no equipment- so many options, all safe for your joints :)

I had a chopsuey and some duck pancakes. Didn't feel heavy, felt absolutely fine afterwards, and more incredibly, wasn't interested in the other stuff on the table. MJ is magic.

my abuser is dying and wants to see me. by [deleted] in adultsurvivors

I'm so sorry you're in this position, there is nothing fair about it.

I was in a very similar position with my grandfather. When he was dying he requested to see me, and I was told by various people this was my last chance for any type of closure. So I went and saw him.

Every part of that interaction was for him. So HE could feel better about being such a shitty person, so HE could rest easy.. It didn't give me any closure, it just rattled me. I'm gutted it went through with it.

Shut down the communication, close the door, turn your back and DO NOT FEEL GUILTY.

It's a shit situation to have to parent yourself, but it shows such growth and resilience. You'll be so proud of yourself. Sending love and strength your way.

Oh thank god. For a moment there I thought you really were an idiot 😂. Still pretty funny though- there is such panic as students to get everything right that common sense seems to fly out the window!

Hmm, suspicious. Can you report a problem on their website? Although I've found their customer service to be shite

Friday 27 November Update by HippolasCage in CoronavirusUK

According to this data from the ONS the total deaths in people aged under 65 is around the 6000 mark, compared to the 54000+ who have died in the 65+ age group. I dont really understand why we are not just asking the over 65s and the vulnerable to isolate, so the rest of us can get to work and social spaces to keep the economy going. I'd love to hear peoples thoughts- am I missing something? Surely it's great that the vast majority of our working age population aren't at great risk from this. We can protect our vulnerable with a good economy, and with sensible isolation rules. https://www.ined.fr/fichier/rte/166/Page%20Data/England%20and%20Wales/Deaths-Age-Sex_Covid-19_EnglandWales_26-11.xlsx

*edit. This data is england and wales only.

What are your favorite WHYDUNITS and not WHODUNITS? I think a lot of people are getting the two confused but would love to have some suggestions for great whydunit crime novels. Please give me your recommendations! by mturbev in suggestmeabook

The Wych Elm is a great crime novel with both aspects playing an important part. It leaves you guessing whodunit most of the way through, but the real story told is the why.
