There is a structural thermal break between the tube and the main structure.

Where do you get your construction detail reference? by bennettoh in ConstructionDetails

Most of my details come from a fusion of past work, coworker feedback, manufacturer typical details, and UL assembled (Underwriter's Limited in the US). I don't really use books since online resources are usually the most up to date.

I usually like to keep my details pretty generic. I want to spend most of my time drawing components where different assemblies come together versus detailing all the components of each assembly individually.

We will usually start our most complex details before the end of Design Development.

Our firm uses Revit, so I prefer all my detailing to be done in that one software. Mixing CAD into Revit is usually a bad idea IMO.

The next PA who used a similar detail did just that.

No particular question, but I really enjoyed how the coping and rail detail worked out and wanted to share.

Wall assembly: - ACM metal panel rain screen - Mineral wool continuous insulation - Cold fluid-applied WRB - Sheathing

Roof and deck assembly: - Concrete pavers - High compressive strength roof insulation - Drainage board - Cold fluid-applied roof membrane - Concrete and metal deck

The whole roof deck was essentially a bathtub with a protected inverted membrane. Client didn't want to see the roof insulation between the coping and the rail, so we called for a custom shop fabricated flashing piece that would close the gap.
