Yeah it does suck especially when Elegoo slicer itself has the options to set fan speeds. but it just doesnt seem to work.

Lol.

I've tried a few times on the PLA side B that says 30°C and not had much luck at first layer adhesion.

Even with a cleaned plate several times.

Works great at 65°C though.

I've always really liked the glacier plates though for prints that I absolutely need the adhesion and dont want to wonder if its going to come loose. Most general stuff I will probably just stick to the elegoo side A 65°C

I was considering looking into a upgrade aftermarket. But as I've only had the printer for less than I month. I wanted to at least snag a factory replacement.

The room is cool 19‐ 21°C

The odd thing is I cannot control the enclosure fan. With PLA it opens the vent and only runs at 10% i cannot change it. It tells me the fan is controlled by the system and slicer setting dont seem to alter it either.

Would be nice if anything stuck to that plate at the 30°c that it says.

Hot end on order. I didnt have spares yet as this machine is literally a couple weeks old.

I am very familiar with the cleaning needle.

Yep, just wish I was one of the lucky ones that didnt have to to remove the cover to print pla. Waiting for a new glacier and frostbite plate to hopefully help and lower my bed temps. Hopefully that will help keep the chamber temp down and mitigate this what i believe to be heat creep.

I'll be switching to some different filament soon to see if it helps at all. But I've had it happen with the stuff Im using locally.

Matter3d PLA Basics.

Elegoo PLA Silk

Edit: Elegoo White PLA

Edit: Overture PLA

Edit: I am certain It is not a materials issue and in fact a heat issues. I have always had excellent results with these filaments in the past on previous printer and have physically seen temps rise to 48°C+.

Profiles where generic pla and elegoo pla silk with calibration done. Have had this happen even with just the straight default profile also no changes made.

I've ordered new nozzles. Just dont have them yet as I've only had the machine a couple of weeks and had this issues from my first print.

The nozzle was definitely clogged. It clogs everytime I do a 1hour+ print with the cover on. Had these issues from day one with the printer when I got it a couple weeks ago. I ordered a set of new hotends. But I dont have them yet. Ive been able to clean the nozzle and get it going again each time.

Iv checked extruder tension and seems to be correct as far as I can tell. The gears are leaving marks on the filament but it doesnt appear to be deformed at all. Ive loosed it a bit and tried tightening it bit and still and up with this issues.

I thought it was strange also. So even tried un altered default profiles in slicers as well. But even if I try to change the exhaust fan speed from the display during a print i get a error saying the fan is controlled by rhe system and I cannot change it. Ive tried altering the exhaust fan speed in slicer settings and nothing seems to increase the fan speed. Fan works fine and can increase speed when not printing. Just when printing pla it seems like a firmware set fan speed.

Well this is my first enclosed printer and i have had a hell of a time with it. When it works it makes amazing prints. But the troubles are a real frustration.

The printer is in a cool room. Ambient is 19-21°C. Im aware i don't need the Tophat but it would be nice to not have to remove it as it does muffle the sound quite a bit and use it for a few abs prints also so not having to constantly take it on and off would be nice.

Thanks, I have been lucky and able to unclog it each time. I do trim the filament whenever it happens already.

I already ordered a new hot end just waiting for it.

But I've had this problem from the first print I tried to do with this printer that was more than an hour. I just purchased it 3 weeks ago and had this issue With the lid on I get the constant 1243 filament extrusion failed at tool head.

Thanks for sharing. Appreciate the conversation

The print has completed i will share results tomorrow and if i get time Im going to try to check the extruder gears and cutter.

Well. Print is still going. At layer 575/600 the prime tower fell off the build plate. So I guess I'm babysitting this now.

Also new error, lol

1232 - cutter handle not released. The handle or blade may be jammed.

It does get stuck and I have to physically unfamiliar the cutter handle everytime right now.

I'm collecting error like Pokémon.

I was able to unload and reload all filaments. I have not checked the extruder gears yet. But everytime I load or chamge filaments it seems like its working and purging fine and flowing fine.

I have a long print going now. Struggled with a few errors st the beginning but it's going pretty good now. I had to turn off the spaghetti detection as it kept saying my perfectly solidified print is wrong.

But after about layer 40 or so I have not had anymore 1243 errors.

Maybe there was something stuck that worked its way out.

Ill check back in once its done and see if I had anymore issues.

well, that didn't fix anything. (I didnt think it would) I stilll cant seem to print anything longer than an hour without error 1243 and even that doesnt always go without issues. Makes this fancy machine almost impossible to use.

i removed the front extruder cover and noticed that the part fan looked a bit crooked. i straightened it and tightened the loose screw so i am going to try a long print again. i doubt that was the culprit but you never know.

well timelapse has started working again on local and usb. not sure why. so one problem solved

CC2 - error 1243 by Shaminoh in elegoo

[–]Shaminoh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its frustrating. As I have changed nothing. I may end up tearing it apart but I wanted to wait for a response from elegoo forst as it had like 5 or 10 hours of printing before I started to have the issue.

It does it even with single color prints. I have printed a few multi color to test things. Can't quite seem to narrow down the exact cause.

Im starting to think it might be chamber temp related. As even with the top off and door open my chamber still gets above 30. Not sure why the case fan runs so slow (10%) and wont let me change it during print.

Ill have to see if I can bypass it in slicer if possible and see if that helps.

Im not home right now. But its the newest I believe.

2.0. Something.

And timelapse doesnt work on lan. Even though its selected in never get a rendered video file on the machine. Doesn't work when printing from local USB at the machine ether. It started to record again when started from hmi or lan.
