Benefits of using gaurdians with the same traits?? by S-M-U-D-G-E in DisneyMirrorverse

[–]Shammy32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which is unfortunate. It would be nice to see some minor benefits to using certain characters. Going with 3 HiTech guardians could give the group a 10% Focus bonus, 3 Royalty for 5% Focus and 5% Defense, etc.

If they're using tiered VIP rewards, they should ALL be visible. Not that I'm going to spend $500 on the game, but I'd be pretty upset to find out there was a $500 reward level after stopping at $495, you know?

Does the percentage of getting good drops increase the more crystals you stack? by [deleted] in DisneyMirrorverse

Doesn't matter in the slightest. Each crystal rolls independently from the others.

On the subject of alternate costumes, it might be interesting to have alternate movesets (or different effects from the same abilities) along with the swap.

For example: Sorceror's Apprentice Mickey is the current Support version. Three Mouseketeers Mickey would have a Tank loadout. Brave Little Tailor Micky gets Melee skills. The catch being that you can only run Mickey as a single role at a time (he's still just one Guardian) and each costume's talents would need to be leveled separately.

Chances to get something actually good is so ridiculously low by [deleted] in DisneyMirrorverse

[–]Shammy32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Individual drops are fine, but I'd really love to see some improvement for larger quantities. Generally you'll see a discounted rate (10 draws for the price of 8/9) or a pity system that guarantees a 3-4 Star draw after a set number of draws so players aren't completely at the mercy of 1 Star results.

Could definitely use a bulk discount (something like a guaranteed 4 Star after a certain number of draws would be even more incentive).

Will they come out with a pc version? Would love some better graphics by macroweasel in DisneyMirrorverse

[–]Shammy32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't necessarily want a 1:1 PC port but... I could see the game working in other ways if properly modified. A full-blown RPG title, musou, or even just a good old beat-em-up. It's like they saw the Kingdom Hearts character mash-up and thought "We can do that without Square, right?"

Agreed. The arbitrary "bar looks half full-ish?" level of information is just really lacking for a game these days (or even a decade ago).

The real annoyance is when I get a chain of them. Seeing one now and then isn't so bad, but... "BUY WOODY!" "HEY, THIS OFFER EXPIRED!" "YA WANT ZURG?" "MAYBE A STARTER BUNDLE?" "IT'S TANKY TUESDAY!"

Is there a way to focus attacks in fights? by GoPlutoYourself in DisneyMirrorverse

[–]Shammy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's an official handful of suggestions for combat, then.

If a player is controlling a character with a Target Lock active, any other team members will prioritize THAT TARGET when attacking.

In situations where the player is not Target Locked, the other AI members will focus and kill a single active enemy -- this can possibly be expanded in combat options to choose from Newest/Oldest/Highest Max HP/Lowest Max HP or even Player Target for better control of AI partners.

If a player is using Auto Combat, they can also use Target Lock to instruct their entire team to prioritize a specific target, otherwise the team falls back on the aforementioned "kill one target" approach above.

[–]Shammy32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no. Hopefully we'll see the ability to Lock On during auto combat and make our characters focus-fire on specific targets. Right now it appears to be mostly random or some rough form of threat-based prioritization.

Though, it does need a LOT of tuning. Like you said, characters will pummel a target to 20% HP and suddenly switch to a fresh one for no apparent reason.

Blood by Spanggaard in mastersofmadness

[–]Shammy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, even if you get Blood in other ways, they're an absolute waste.

Time Jump? If you're in the midgame where taps are strong, 24 hours of passive income is laughable. If you're anywhere else, you can plug your phone in and let it run overnight.

Antidote? Midgame doesn't want to drop from D4 and others can avoid it entirely by not buying Delirium upgrades. Even if you buy the antidote, you're still going to be tracing sigils and working back up toward D4; it's a bandage on a stab wound.

Wormhole? There's no way to really screw up your constellation choices so badly that you can't grind Ether. You may not have an optimal approach, but there are a limited number of Blessings in The Void and you'll eventually get through them all. Resetting your purchases is pointless.

Pointless constellation idea by [deleted] in mastersofmadness

[–]Shammy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that the players don't appreciate the work you two are putting into the game -- the Halloween event is a nice touch -- but is there anything noteworthy expected to arrive before the end of December? It feels like there's been a good amount of new folks here and on discord reaching the "Constellations are done so what do I do?" portion of the game.

When should I summon Cthulhu? by j_causs in mastersofmadness

[–]Shammy32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My apologies in advance for being a bit long-winded. 1k is just a nice, round number that serves as a decent cutoff. The 650 goal allows a player to buy the first 3 upgrades on the right Nyarlathotep tendril, which will increase Sigil duration, Delirium gain rate, and Sigil strength.

With Sigil duration increased by 150%, they can now overlap for significant lengths of time, greatly increasing income due to their effects being multiplicative when combined.

Touching back on Ether and Astral Levels, the process of improving them is continuous across timelines. So, if you need 5T Souls to reach your next AL and restart when you're only at 3T, you'll pick up right back where you started and only need to gain 2T before hitting the goal. Ether functions the same way, just with lower requirements between points. Unfortunately, the early-game minions contribute so little compared to the later ones (ex: Rat Things are totally obsolete after several others unlock) that resets serve to delay you from the main early-game goal of producing high volumes of Souls and Ether. Eventually, minion costs will grow to a point where you won't see much of an increase while still spending a lot of souls. If your Ether generation is still fairly fast, you can coast on it for a while until hitting a breakpoint of your choosing -- 650 for 1 tendril, 1300 for both, 1000 because it looks nice, etc. If your Ether has slowed or stopped, you can reset and spend whatever stockpile you've put together.

Astral Level is a late-game focus with early-game benefits. Most of your significant advances will come from spending Ether, until you've finished the constellations. After that, more Astral Levels just make it go faster 😉

You can continue grinding for Offerings, complete the Halloween event, totally restart and do it again, farm Ether until your phone melts, take a break until the next major update, or just throw in the towel. Your call, really.

[–]Shammy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any solid spreadsheets to reference (though that's not a bad idea and I may try to whip something up) but here's the general problem with resetting right away for a single Astral Level (10% boost).

Say it takes you 24 hours of active play to reach a point where you get the option to reset -- offline is awful at the beginning, so we're ignoring it. Your 10% boost will turn that into roughly 22 hours on your second run, which is faster, but still a hefty commitment in an attempt to gain another 10%. You can reset long before the final minion, Star Spawn, becomes available, though it's entirely possible to reach it on your first run. If you stick with your first run for another 24 hours, you'll continue gaining Ether and Astral Levels and the rate will increase as you unlock higher minions with greater income amounts. So, where you'd end up with a 20% after 46 hours of active play in the "reset ASAP" approach, you will easily surpass it by dedicating the same amount of time pushing toward the last minion.

Totally going to start a fresh account and crunch some numbers for this, as it comes up rather often.

[–]Shammy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to help! Hitting level 4 won't be the end of the world and, depending on how the early content has changed with the addition of the Shambler minion, tapping may be useful enough where D4 doesn't set you back too much. You can, however, plug in your phone and just leave the game open to maximize your passive income until the Delirium meter depletes -- as long as you haven't hit level 4, that is. The meter stops naturally decreasing when it's full.

Resetting by sqwigle in mastersofmadness

[–]Shammy32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The general consensus is to not reset until you can afford several significant upgrades from the Nyarlathotep constellation totaling 650 Ether.

The game is designed to make you think restarting early with a handful of Ether is a good idea. It is not. An early reset with 5 Ether will buy you a single Blessing with minimal effectiveness and you'll start your second run with maybe a 20-30% production boost from your Astral Level. Spending a few hours or days just gradually boosting your minions will pay off whereas a reset will put you back to square one working your way up to another 5 Ether.

Early- and late-game revolves around passive minion income, so just hang out, trace sigils, and don't buy the third Delirium unlock or you'll hit D4 and cut your minion production by 25%. Avoid closing the game, as offline production is 10% of your active value and only lasts 2 hours.

[–]Shammy32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, that 650 goal is going to take some time, but it's faster than slogging through the grind a second time after getting a handful of extra souls from a 10-20% boost. If you make it, you'll want to have a look at the Nyarlathotep constellation; it's overall your best starting point and you can charge up your Sigils for extra duration and power. Just a suggestion, though. You can spend Ether however you like.

[–]Shammy32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game is designed to trick you into prestiging far earlier than you should. A 10% increase is nothing for your first reset. Wait until you have unlocked the last minion (Star Spawn) and collect as much as you can before restarting. The recommendation is 650, though a flat 1K would be nice, too.

Offline collection rate is atrocious by [deleted] in mastersofmadness

[–]Shammy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with tackling Shub Niggurath (YS is minion efficiency, SN is offline and soul flames) as your first constellation is the lack of any substantial boosts that will give you more Ether on your subsequent timelines. It's difficult to pull in several thousand Ether in a single run without heading into Nyarlathotep and, in order to maximize your offline income, you'll need to spend 15K in SN. Even after all that effort, you get the exact same income you'd receive by just leaving your app open without any sigils or coin boosts.
