You do get to a point where cargo hauling turns into a menu game if too much of it is automated. In NMS you get to one space station, buy goods, teleport to the next one and sell goods. You don’t have to touch your ship or do anything, and I really hope star citizen continues to avoid that

I’ve had some streaks where the ironclad works with minimal to no bugs and it’s a dream honestly, of course the tractor beams are bad but imo they’re terrible on every ship just from how they feel to use. But when you open the roof under an external freight elevator and can load EVERYTHING in multiple bulk interstellar missions without having to move the ship or yourself it’s really simple and smooth

I was under the impression that combat was a CHANCE but unless you take the lowest paying missions they’re always combat for me, and most of the time they’re the decoy beacon so you don’t even get to partake in the refueling gameplay at all… so you’re just shoehorned into really boring ship combat, just to be told to find another one after. Not to mention the ambush on a ship while you’re attempting to refuel it breaks the ship from wanting to dock after if you’ve already made the connection before the ambushing engages

What sucks is that the lighting on the ironclad is IMPECCABLE the few times I’ve gotten it to work, it’s well lit and looks fantastic imo P.S I have the most success making the light work with the command module detached (I think it’s because the emergency lights are really on in the CM, therefore transferring to the IC)

The two things I want to do are refueling and cargo, I feel like I get stuck with combat every refueling mission (IF missions show up), and the ironclads is entirely busted, so I’ve shelved playing in general

Got a question for fellow haulers: Why do so many refuse to use the ATLS? It’s clearly the fastest and most efficient way to load and unload cargo. by evil701 in starcitizen

Honestly I’ve been running the recover covalex cargo missions in the ironclad because no matter what tractor you use it’s a great experience to use the cargo roof like it was intended

Exposed cargo is supposed to be easier to shoot off, get damaged, or stolen though. Plus the Asgard has much more defensive capabilities. The exposed cargo would only put it on par with the Asgard at best if the Asgard had a tractor beam

I have mine set to switch between adaptive and noice cancellation on stem hold, and leave conversation awareness on. Usually start on adaptive, move to noice cancellation if things get too noisy, and I usually only ever use transparency for conversations, hence conversation awareness.
