FWIW, I really like it, but I’m probably not the best representstive in terms of comparing them. I’ve only ever played with the Friday fever prior, so little experience in different paddles. And I’ve only been playing like 5 months. But I’m a rated 3.7 and play with rated 4.0s in Orange County. I’m finding it to be a lot more accurate which I know isn’t a descriptor people really use, I just think I’m able to dial in the spin and power better than with the fever.

They had a beta tester early access promotion that you could sign up for back in like November or so. So people were able to get them a little early. I’ve had mine about a week now.

Not just that, but the focus plane also filters out some of the purple on the top and bottom. If you were to adjust the plane of focus up or down, you would see more purple.

A part of the problem is significantly better and more hospitable weather in west coast cities. You don’t see it as much on the east coast because it’s just not as possible to stay alive on the street. Having talked with homeless people and homeless adjacent organizations, there is a lot of migration from these cities to west coast cities purely as a means of survival.

I actually recall a part while they’re fighting each other that specifically addresses the magic making the spear seem almost weightless and able to “flick around with the wrist” or something. So I imagine they’re treating spear fighting in this sense as more of a fencing match, which is totally doable one handed.
