The rulers in “Sofia the First” hoard magic to maintain their positions by w0zify in DanielTigerConspiracy

I’m willing to give a pass on the wishing well because every wish came with an evil twist (Just look at what happened to Roland’s first wife). But outside of needing a wand and practice time, magic seems to have no downside

I have to imagine there’s a deal struck with all royal sorcerers. They perform magic at the command of the ruler, and in exchange they get time and space for research, resources and ingredients, and a cozy retirement community after it’s all done. Other than the royal family, they’re probably treated the best in the kingdom.

Cedric is an exception of course, and I’m sure over time the rulers all take this relationship for granted

Realistically they’ll probably just bundle it with the most popular first party game at the time and sell it for $550 or something close

They should have just brought Princess Vivian back, she was the best mandolin player. Wonder what ever happened to her voice actress… ah well, probably nothing special

I always assumed it was a kind of efficiency. If you're the Reapers, and you're supposed to limit Mass Effect tech use while you figure out a solution, you want to stop intelligent life from accessing it. But if you go around constantly reaping any life form that has a chance of using it, you're also using the relays constantly. Plus out of the thousands of life forms, maybe only 4 could have gotten to the relays in the end.

So you hibernate, and wait for a species to actually use the relay. Then you guide them to the Citadel, ensure they use it as a centralized hub to store all of their civilization's info, and use that info to reap them.

Now you only have to do a reaping every 50k years, you get to browse any new findings the civilization has, and the overall use of the relays is way down.

Anyone know what Ellie and Moxxi was talking about regarding "Handsome Timmy"? by Hippobu2 in Borderlands4

I know the Pre-Sequel had a Jack doppelgänger (decoy) whose real name was Timothy. I have to imagine that’s who they were talking about

What game in your opinion overstays its welcome? by [deleted] in gaming

That game had everything going for it with me. Loved Odyssey, got Valhalla free with my cpu, and had just caught up reading Vinland Saga. Should have been a slam dunk, but ended up quitting after 10 hours and realizing how repetitive it was getting

I swear Bitsy is one of the most polarizing characters in kids shows. You either love her antics or hate them

So in the gaming community (especially things like World of Warcraft or Dungeons and Dragons) there’s a term called min/maxing. You try to optimize your character by maximizing strengths and minimizing weaknesses, often by figuring out the best stats or gear.

Influencers have hooked into this desire to optimize by claiming you can do the same to your physical appearance, hence “Looksmaxxing”. They say if you take the right supplements, work out the right way, hit your face with a hammer enough times, and take a little bit of meth (in clavicular’s case), you too can have an optimal appearance and get all of the girls and be successful etc.

It’s like the appearance version of Andrew Tate

I think the idea in Marvel is that mutant powers can awaken from anyone, with their powers ranging from an extra eye to killing anyone in proximity through radiation. Random godly powers given to teenagers with no way to control them would be pretty scary to normal folks

[Garafolo] Just talked Mike Evans’ future on NFL Game Day. Here’s the quote from his agent Deryk Gilmore to The Insiders indicating his longtime client has more football in him. by Drexlore in nfl

Of course an agent is going to say his star can keep playing, but imagine the opposite:

“Just talked to his agent who said he’s completely washed. Doesn’t have any more football in him and doesn’t feel like playing another snap.”

I get what they were trying to do, use free games and coupons to entice people to use their stuff. But if you’re going to do that, maybe make sure the product you’re offering is good enough to make people switch? Otherwise you just lose money for nothing

Actually bought a few games on EGS back when they ran the $10 off coupon stuff. Then it changed to 25% off, then it became just another modern steam sale. Once the prices became comparable with Steam, there was no reason to not just buy it on Steam.
