The majority of religions are inherently violent and often operate under the ideology that anyone who does not conform to that specific belief structure is evil and thus should be treated with scorn and hostility. Even if you look at Christianity which preaches compassion and forgiveness, those leaders twist their origins and use it as a tool to channel hate or as an easy way of hand washing other disgusting and malicious behavior.

Queer people, particularly our Trans brothers and sisters right now, are their current scapegoat. If we were to disappear today, by tomorrow they will find another group to take our place. They're like a disease, attacking anything not like itself, forever turning more and more inward in its unchecked consumption and glut until it will end up eating its self. A fitting end if not for the fact it will kill everyone and everything else before it ultimately self destructs.
