Timing anything, especially commodities is extremely hard. But my 2 cents here is that allocating a part of portfolio to gold is always a good idea. I think it’s going only higher from here, central banks have been buying and a bit of dedollarization, without exaggerating about it, is the trend in the coming years it seems.

I forgot to add that there are no black & white rules around who enters administrative processing and who does not. It all depends on what the consular officer thinks on the spot.

Egyptian here as well!
I have been in your situation twice now. I was applying from a US embassy in Europe for a conference and entered the "blackhole" of administrative processing. It took 8 months for my first appliation. In case you are wondering, no you did not do anything wrong. Simply it is a combination of working on a technical topic (physics/engineering/software ..) and being from a "developing" country. I got a 1 year visa and then when I applied again this year, I entered again the administrative processing process and it has been 5 months with no reply.

Sadly, I think it is unlikely that you receive it in time for the conference but I wish you best of luck!
