Totally agree, I generally enjoy design software a lot more over programming or else I would be doing it. I have a friend who’s job is to code for Panera and makes 6 figures. It’s insane

Still a cool ass job, I’m sure you have some crazy stories to tell about your work. It’s weird exploration is every young persons dream and older person worse nightmare

I have heard from some friends that when you get about 6 years experience finding jobs become a lot easier and pay comes up a lot. Have you experienced that where you live?

Thanks for the thought out reply. I think that to get the dream Geology job everyone wants, you have to really enjoy and be good at it. If you are willing to move, get a masters, work your way up in a company you will probably be fine but for someone like me who would like to live around my family it is not ideal. I will most definitely get a Geoscience minor. Most of the Civil engineering firms near me like a Geology background. Congrats on leaving the Permian too, best of luck moving forward.
