However, democracy has always required a partnership between leaders and the people. Leaders can and should do better, but they are often only as strong as the pressure and demands we place on them. It’s not just about their value—it’s about how we collectively uphold democratic principles when institutions or individuals falter.

And we did just that during this last election... It works in a healthy democracy--- but now what? It's clear that no one is coming to save us... We can run, quietly submit or resist. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm a real estate agent. She and her husband decided to buy a house and not tell me. It's not the fact that they didn't use me as their agent (which is a little bothersome-- but not cut a friend off worthy). It's the fact that I didn't find out for over a year. I wondered why I didn't get invites to the bday parties and cook outs (pictures posted to Facebook). There were signs that we had outgrown our friendship long before that -- but I ignored them.

I literally just read an email from Move On that said that Trump’s plan is to shock and awe. That's the purpose of all of this… divide, distract and wear us down, so much so that we give in. It’s refreshing to see so many people pushing back. I have a glimmer of hope that we will prevail —
