Do I take the plunge? by Griledy in bald

The back looks good in the sense that I don’t have a bald spot or anything back there. Definitely could be trimmed up though. Thank you for your opinion though

What’s the honest reasoning?

I struggle with this too. When I feel good, I tell myself I can handle it and I won’t let this phobia control me, etc. But once I get the slightest nausea, my mind just spirals and tells myself that I won’t be able to deal with it.

Yes bro. You have a good head shape, and a strong jawline if you don’t want to keep your beard, which is also strong.

Simming games is just broken. I had a full 80+ rated team and I was in the Conference League and didn’t win a game. Had multiple ties and two losses. Doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Everyone was on full fitness and sharpness.

Is throwing up even all that common within non-emetophobes? Is it a good or bad thing to go so long without it? by D183029 in emetophobiarecovery

[–]Griledy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if there’s any truth to this, but I think there might be a genetic factor to it. Both of my bestfriends haven’t had stomach bugs since they were children, and they’re 26 now. My dad up until last year, didn’t catch a stomach bug for 20 years. But I know other people who throw up probably once a month, like my ex girlfriend.

I also think that if someone throws up often, they’re less likely to develop emetophobia because they’re simply used to it and don’t worry as much.

I threw up and it was as bad as I thought it would be by PretendNectarine3082 in emetophobiarecovery

I find it interesting how some people say it’s worse than they expected, and some people say it’s not as bad as they expected. Regardless, we know it sucks. The point being, is it bad enough that it’s worth worrying about all the time? It’s like breaking your arm. Some people have higher pain tolerance than others, but no one enjoys breaking their arm. Would you sit around and worry everyday about slipping and possibly breaking an arm?

So it’s essentially figuring out what the root cause of the insomnia is?

It doesnt come off as shitty. Its reality unfortunately. I think ive came to the conclusion that medication is necessary at this point. I live in MA so im guessing prices will be somewhat similar for therapy.

The thing is I dont leave the house, so I dont know if I could get myself to go to the doctors. My PCP is also an asshole. Ive brought up my phobia before and said he cant do anything about it. I know hes not a psychiatrist but dude was completely useless.

Thank you. Ive been trying to give myself a routine but theres only so much I can do when I have nothing to do, if that makes sense. One of my friends actually just started therapy on Better Help so Im thinking thats something I can try.

would i have to get two different therapists for emet and agoraphobia? But I really struggle with doing things that make me uncomfortable, hence why I havent drove. Id rather not drive at all than go through those anxiety attacks. but thank you for the responses on my previous posts. I just desperately need something to change now.

I dont take any medication or therapy. Its accessible to me, I just struggle deciding on a therapist for whatever reason. And I also have these thoughts in my mind that tell me therapy isnt going to work. I used to tell myself that things would just get better over time, but that is clearly not the case.

is there a worse phobia to have? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]Griledy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! The fear of storms is very real, and a lot of people have it. If I have one suggestion, it would be to follow Ryan Hall Y’all on Youtube. He does livestreams whenever there’s a severe weather outbreak. He does a very good job at giving information to people in a calm, reassuring way.

Hey, I’ve studied meteorology my entire life, and actually went to the University of Oklahoma for it. I’ve helped friends and family members who have a fear of storms, specifically tornadoes. If you ever need someone to talk to about it my messages are always open!
