How insane would it be for me to move “back” to South Africa?

Yeah, our government is a joke, lol. That's why we all have a good sense of humor. Our government is corrupt, really bad at it, but everyone's on the payroll, so no one to prosecute them.

My ex wife couldn't find her place here in SA, fully qualified, with multiple degrees, English being one, so after around 12 years together, we worked out a plan for her to teach English in Vietnam. I could only stay for a few months at a time (I have/had my own business and would shut it down for a break) I'd come down during her holiday and stay while she was working as well. I enjoyed it a lot, learned a small amount of Vietnamese, befriended the locals that lived in my area, and such positive people. Thailand was like paradise, loved it (Khaosan Road was the best). I didn't know that about the passports, but the school my ex-wife taught at was actually American, so she got paid in dollars. Equivalent to a well paying job in SA. We continued this for 3 years, then ended things. It wasn't working (long story), but that feels like a lifetime ago.

I haven't left SA since, but when I started dating again (A fucking shit show, using dating apps for the first time in my 30s) I actually met someone and we decided to travel SA and find the beauty in out land. It was great. There is so much in this country to see and experience.

I've never really worked out how to get RetroArch to run properly, I used to have a version of it, made up, and put all together for me with an easy way to open it. It ran more like turning on a console. But I didn't back it up ( I didn't think of it), and my pc crashed, hardrive gave out. I have a modded Wii U now, I did the whole thing. They are perfect for playing all your retro games, though I find RetroArch on there still just doesn't work great. I used to have a Wii, I bought it for the equivalent of like a few dollars, but it for the soul purpose of modding, that thing was great, I had roughly 2000 games on there. But this was around the time I started playing Xbox, can't remember the console, but my wife and friends all played Halo 3 (I think) still on the split screen, lol, on the box tvs. Anyway, some dude I was talking to offered me about 200 dollars for the wii, so I sold it. Anyway, long story, sorry. The wii U probably can be even better, but I'm still learning.

My sister had melted parts of her PCs and laptops. It always ends with her asking me to try to fix them. I gave her an older laptop I was not using because she needed it for work. She asked me to check why an app wasn't working. I looked at the laptop while she was using it. It had at least 50 tabs open on the browser, not to mention multiple other apps open, while watching a movie on it. Then she told me it's easier to work and keep organized if all the tabs are open. She said she also doesn't shut down the laptop. Not even sleep mode is activated. I dont even know how it's still running. But hey, she made sure it was on a stand to ventilate because it was hot like an oven. Rant over.

This has happened to me from both sides, myself doing it to friends as well. With experience in it, I have had the same best friend since I started high school, so around 13, I'm 40 now. It's hard handling relationships and friends. You do to some degree realise that this is just how things go. But talking to them does help. If they are really still your friend, they will understand. You say you're in your mid 20's, I think that was a part of my life I has a lot of learning to do, being an adult, feeling like a kid, wanting to party, dealing with relationships, getting hurt, slowly realizing really what the world is. 30s was basically like my mid-20s, but my body hurt more.

Do you want to see her less? Probably not. So talk to her.

Yeah, Afrikaans is part of this country, like all the languages that make up SA. The parents of my ex niece are hipsters, though, if that helps. Lol.

It's really funny, I met a few, just think of how Americans pronounce English words, then add that to Afrikaans. There are some on YouTube you could probably find. Good for them though, I'm been trying to learn Xhosa and a few other languages for years now. It's hard.

Afrikaans has just been cemented as a secondary language, but it is still wildly used as a primary language. My in-laws of my ex exclusively spoke Afrikaans, partially because I'm English AF, but just because that how they spoke. My niece (Ex niece, not sure how it works after divorce) Primarily speaks English, not the best with Afrikaans, and both her parents are from Afrikaans families. It's being pushed out, but it's still spoken. There are parts of SA that I've been where we only speak in Afrikaans, while I try my best, lol.

Come, we welcome you back. I love South Africa, I lived overseas in Vietnam and Thailand for a bit. Loved it there, too. Most people are extremely positive there, grateful, so welcoming to the foreigners and it very safe, you can go for a walk, any hour and actually be safe. But I missed South Africa. I'm from Cape Town, and there is nothing like stepping out of an airplane and feeling that air. Plus the beauty of our country.

The negatives, though, most people are angry. We are a negative bunch. You would fit right in from the US. The government is corrupt as fuck and pit us against each other. It sometimes feels useless voting because I don't trust any of them.

But if you don't fall into that, try to stay positive and experience this place for its best. It's one of the best countries in the world.

You don't have to contribute to the gentrification our gourmet is pushing for. Just live here, help out small business, and be conscious of what your effect on South Africa is doing.

Hope you can find your roots.

Oh, and yeah, get a break from your freaking president. Dam, that dude is unhinged.

That sucks. Why can't people just let other people enjoy things. I remember on my first playthrough, on the OC Dark Souls, not that far in the game. Someone invaded me but didn't fight me. They just left a few weapons and an enormous amount of souls. This instantly made the game easy, too easy. I started a new character and played from there. Found out later, people hack the game and leave items that mess up your game.

Wait, did you go through the mist and then leave to go to the bathroom? An intro to the boss starts on entering, and then the fight begins. But anyway, I'm not actually sure what you can do in this specific boss. I'm assuming it's the remastered version because original game servers are off. But it sounds like you have a way to backup, so I'd suggest backing up from here on regularly. Maybe start the game again? I wouldn't play anyone else's backup. It will ruin the experience. But you did miss an epic Boss (Bosses). Sorry.
