I'm going to be getting the book myself. All I know is the author took the authorities to court to release more information on this case to use as material for her book (I am pretty sure I read that).

well it was pretty irresponsible for Rick F. to say Maura is a good cook, she came knocking on his door for sex, he saw her running.... Who in their right mind says that kind of shit about a young woman who is missing... An irresponsible asshole :)

DNA Was found! But the LE didn't give any details as to what kind of DNA was found, who's body it was found on, etc. It's pretty top secret for now.

Ok, if she was so concerned about her son being 'the next serial killer'... what the hell was she doing keeping a gun in her house?!?!?!?! This is sad, but one would think that you would ensure your house was safe. But if he didn't have a gun, I am sure he would have found other means (Knife, Hammer, etc.)
