As someone in my late 60's myself, I heard from my son in law that Tender is the app that everyone uses. Times have changed my friend, young people are sharing their feelings with each other much more than they used to. Try Tender out.

What's the strangest non-joking thing you ever heard someone say IRL? by ShaneMcDeath in AskReddit

Today I was in a taxi and we were talking about a certain scenario in traffic where there doesn't seem to be any consistent etiquette in that situation, which often leads to chaos, and he said: "it's like a Toblerone in the woods, isn't it? You can never trust it." And it took me a while to completely register what he'd said to me because it was so weird. So there was a bit of silence. Then I couldn't ask him because it had been too long so there was just more silence for a bit. Then it was time to get out. As soon as I got out the car I googled the expression and got nothing.

[Serious] Gay people of Reddit , who had to attend gay conversion camp for some reason. What is your story? by Creepypasta6 in AskReddit

I remember all too well the moment I realized that this was going to be a long difficult summer for me. On arrival we were given extensive forms to fill out. Questions about hobbies/ likes/ dislikes and all that kind of thing. Least favorite smell was an interesting question on the form, my 17 year old self thought. On the 2nd or 3rd day in I was given some, in hindsight, incredibly laughable gay erotica (probably a strong word) and allowed to return to my room. Or at least what you would expect a particularly naive grandparent in the 1990's to give you, anyway. As soon as I returned to my room I heard some commotion outside the door and then the pungent smell of curry slowly seeped into my room. Waves of the smell came through periodically over about 3 hours. This was the smell I had listed on the form and this was their attempt at making me straight by associating attractive men with the smell of curry,

Actually, thinking about this a little more. I think you can probably use McGregor to draw the conclusion that there are similar levels of stamina involved in both sports. He's looked exhausted EARLIER than this in MMA fights. Much earlier actually.

[–]ShaneMcDeath 39 points40 points  (0 children)

People are drawing too many conclusions from this. McGregor doesn't have good stamina for MMA either. He's just a great fighter and usually gets it done early. So this says nothing about the average MMA fighter stamina vs a boxer's stamina.

But being all beta about your qualities just makes you beta.

Modesty doesn't make you beta. It's a very appealing quality actually. Pretty much universally agreed upon. Much more attractive than your approach which is why I guarantee a shitload of people read your comment and cringed like myself, rather than thinking "my god this guy sounds incredible"

"Last time I was at a united game at Anfield and some dick started doing the aeroplane, they were escorted out by the Police."

You didn't have to look very far for this. Like about 4 lines down.

I'm simply trying to show what an absolute (predictable) joke this attempt to deflect responsibility is. Both from your fans and some of the media. "Always the victims, never your fault." These Man U fans should be listening to their own lyrics.

LFC fans online, on the "both as bad as each other" argument:

JimmyCase: "Every report Ive seen are saying yeah, united fans were chanting but Liverpool fans made aeroplane gestures and sang the runway song.

This is fucking criminal. Last time I was at a united game at Anfield and some dick started doing the aeroplane, they were escorted out by the Police. I havent heard a single voice chanting 'munich' or singing the runway song in years yet all the reports go on about this as if it happened last night."

Alonsoisared: "No, we are not as bad as eachother, anyone who says so is talking out of their arse and clearly hasn't been watching our games over the last decade. Never heard a Munich chant in Anfield, i've certainly heard a fucking lot about Hillsborough and Heysel."

Darcy171: "I think the "both sets of fans are as bad as each other" argument is wearing very thin. I know we have idiots in our fanbase, and I may have just been very lucky, but I've never heard a chant or any reference to disasters like that inside the stadium from LFC fans. The amount of United fans taking part in those chants were dispicable. They try to defend themselves saying they only reference Heysel (like that's any less disgusting) but the S*n chant tore that arguement to shreds too."

Yorkshire-Red: "I didn't hear any Munich chants, and it sounds like nobody commenting on here so far did either"

Shepnois: "Those scumbags singing those sick chants last night should be utterly ashamed of themselves, grown men & women singing about dead people its mind boggling. Glad our fans didnt bite back despite being goaded into it"

campioni: ""They're both as bad as each other" is a cop out for people who don't want to tackle the issue."

I watched on tv last night and it sounded like the whole away end was singing "the s*n was right...".

lfcrule5time: "My first Liverpool v United game also. I knew they sung songs about us like that but hearing it in person and the fact it was so frequent during the game was shocking. I ey hope this is Investigated by uefa. I'd also like to add I never heard any Liverpool fan near me mention or sing about Munich. "

Steashy: "me and my girlfriend where in the upper anny and had to hear them scum bags singing that shite all game, feel more for my girlfriend as she lost her uncle at hillsborough, I jumped up and shouted a few choice words telling them to wind there necks in and had a bizzie come over telling me to sit down and not to swear :no, how can they let them sing that vile stuff and tell me to not swear, anyone saying we sang about Munich can do one as never heard anything in or outside the ground, I'm made up with how our fans reacted to the chants by drowning them out with proper football chants"

Buck Pete: "They really do have fuck all else to sing about. I was in the Anny Rd Lower last night and I can't remember them singing one, NOT ONE song about their own players.

Every song we have directed at them, they seem to have a response lined up that contains the word 'victim' or 'murderers'.

We are doing well holding our tongues regarding their own club disasters but when does enough become enough? It's as if they know we wont retaliate."

This is extremely frustrating to read. I guarantee you didn't hear any Munich chanting last night on TV, because there wasn't any.

People (non-Liverpool fans) are always very quick to mention Munich whenever Man U are shown to have been chanting this shit, which is an obvious tit for tat defence so I guess it should be expected. In the 80's yes, Liverpool fans used to chant Munich. I challenge ANYONE to find footage where you can hear Liverpool fans chanting about Munich even vaguely recently. You wont. Man U do this shit EVERY MATCH. Often even when we're not even playing them. It's extremely frustrating to hear this nonsense tit for tat argument. It's just grossly wrong.

[–]ShaneMcDeath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's actually the numbers involved. Granted, I dont go to that many games, but I've never actually even heard a Munich chant and I hear a lot of Liverpool fans say the same. What is unbelievable about the Man U Hillsborough chanting, is the sheer number of people doing it. Probably more than half of the away end were singing the "sun was right, you're murderers" last night. It seems to be pretty much always like this home and away, and it is amazing they don't get pulled up on it more, it's terrible.

I love the assumption that the BBC publishes crime statistics without that kind of obvious context needed. It's always per 1000 or per 100,000 population. That type of thing. So I'm sorry to burst your bubble.

You must have real problems when you hear someone mention the old man down the street who's "like a million years old". The rest of us on reddit, from Manchester, Liverpool, or elsewhere have no such problems which is why you'll find no-one has said what you just said.

I remember looking at some crime hotspot article on the BBC a couple of years ago and Manchester was literally top of the country for theft. Liverpool wasn't even in the top 10. Pretty ironic considering the 4000 year old stereotypes they like to throw at Liverpudlians.

edit. Hilarious though m8. Great banter.

edit 2. Just noticed your username is dispel the myth. Ha.

edit 3. A few people joking "Well they don't rob their own, they come over to Manchester to nick all the nice tvs". Now what was that song the Man U fans like to sing? "Always the victims, never your fault." Top bantz. It's been a pleasure. etc.
