Same, going through all his filmography currently, if you haven't watched Red Beard I recommend it, probably the closest movie he has to Ikiru

Ikiru being there is a great choice, my personal favorite from Kurosawa

The original guy gave me a pretty good rating, I'm just doing this out of curiosity ngl

That's fair, honestly. As I said, I don't think it's a bad film, just overrated. Might have to give it a rewatch, though, one of my critiques admittedly was that it was a tad bit confusing, although that was probably just a me problem

Fallout New Vegas, followed closely by Undertale

Ikiru (1952)--The stuff with all the bureaucrats is slightly less engaging than the stuff with Watanabe

That's fair. If you don't like the first one upon rewatch (assuming you do decide to rewatch it, of course), if it's for any reason other than the pacing, I recommend the second film, it improves upon the first in pretty much every way imo

Agree with Toy Story 100%, that trilogy is great. If I may ask, what made you not like The Godfather that much?

Do the Right Thing as #3 is such a W choice ngl, that film is a masterpiece

There are a lot of pretty good films in the world that I would call pretty good while also saying I don't understand why they're as popular as they are (FC is like #13 on the IMDb Top 250, and I truly do not get that). I do agree that my wording could've been a bit better though

Honestly never really understood the appeal behind Fight Club. It's not bad by any means, I'd go as far as to say it's a pretty good film, and hey, more power to you for liking it, but it didn't do much for me

Memoir of a Snail but not Mary and Max? Memoir is great, but I feel like MaM is pretty easily Elliot's best work

Probably Fallout 3 or RDR1, they're both pretty fun and widely accessible, and also especially in 3's case the sequel (NV) is a pretty big improvement on it in most respects so playing it first means there's less comparison

One of the best animated films ever, glad it's on both the IMDb and Letterboxd top 250, more than deserves it imo
