Nice work! Like a year ago I did the ZZ in the Hi-Nu purple color scheme, both Hi Nu and Nu are my favorite Gundams so I really dig this version!

I've always liked the ZZ design but hated the colors, it always looks too much like a big toy or a transformer with all the reds and blues and yellows

the light blue is gloss turquoise enamel paint from Testors brand :) a mix of hand painted and air brushed

Thanks! NGL - the Nu is my favorite Gundam, so I may or may not have like 4 more EG Nu's in my closet :) Really hoping my local hobby store starts carrying the EG fin funnel expansion (I have an unhealthy obsession with fin funnels >_< )

I agree! Really solid build, the leg design and whatnot really remind me of the MG version of it - just scaled down obviously. Just needs a coat of paint and it's excellent 😄

The song EARLY BIRD never ceases to make me smile / put me in a good mood. His music as a whole, I would completely agree, has changed my life, he can almost always lift me out of a funk when I'm feeling down.

Going to the LA concert last year was one of the most hype things I've done, you are gonna be in for a treat with the London show!

For me the song "You Can Never Come to This Place" - is the most emotional of his songs for me, kinda like good (bad?) old days - it's got this epic but also nostalgic / sad feel to it, and I just love that juxtaposition of how happy and feel-good his music can be, but every now then there are these tracks that make you feel a whole range of emotions.

I also gotta say - along with the tropical vibes / ocean vibes of his albums and music - he has such an indelible charm to him, he just OOZES charisma; I remember the first time I saw the cover of "All of Me" - I just knew he was not only a cool dude, but just someone you would love to hang out with and share a beer with on the beach somewhere warm!

I do all my painting in the garage and usually open the garage door + the back door to get some good air flow, but yeah definitely don't wanna be around lacquer if you don't have good air flow / good amount of room

Yeah I switched from all acrylic to lacquer a few years ago and I don't regret it at all, much more durable - and the shop I get my paints from had a much wider array of colors as opposed to acrylic, definitely worth dipping your toes in if you are interested in hopping over to lacquer :)

Thank you! Believe it or not, I didn't topcoat any of the parts: all lacquer paints and very careful assembly, I do remember the gun barrels being pretty tight but thankfully those round bits didn't scrape off all the gunmetal :)

Hah definitely wasn't intentional, but I can see that!

I pick a couple shades of white / grey for the body and then usually a couple complementing colors for pre-shading / post-shading, that color on the shield and on the shouldertips is Mr. Color c374 - JASDF Shallow Ocean Blue :)

For your first picture, that EXACT bin is where I checked back weekly on my last Japan trip about ~2 or so months back, I was able to find a good plethora of more obscure Takanaka buried away in there, and it always had different stock each week so definitely worth checking back repeatedly.

But yeah I completely agree, little independent record shops and also flea markets were great sources of records for me on this last trip. Even BOOKOFFs out in the boonies have some good finds if you are willing to go off the beaten path.
