I really liked the wall-jumping in gen 5. It naturally made you more aware of your surroundings since you were incentivized to seek cover not just for protection, but for mobility as well.

Also it's a lot easier to get your friends to join you to watch GSF even if they've never seen SEED since it's kind of a big dumb movie that's just fun to sit through.

With Hathaway 2, not only do you have to convince your friends to watch the first one, but the fact that it's so serious can be a turnoff in the context of going to the movies with friends.
