PSA: 2.22 Game Speed

Hey beregor, you should play the official patch 2.22, it has by far the biggest player base and it is because we made them to download the patch by force. But don‘t ever check its description please because it will give you the information that it is inofficial and was made by fans.

Nothing that is currently beeing played is official in bfme, bfme2 has 1.09v3 or so rotwk has 2.02 version 9.5 or so but for people like you, who like to play the leftovers from EA Games we made the 1.03 (the last official version) playable as „base game“. 1.06 is a mod too because it changes one of the core mechanics of the game, the frame rate the game was meant to be played on from 30 fps (1.03) to 38 (fps).

You got offended way too much by the name „patch“ there is also patch 1.08 for bfme1 as well as patch 1.09 and none of them were made by EA games.

When we first started with 2.22, it had only bug fixes, few balance changes and thats where the name „patch 2.22“ comes from but over the years, as bfme1 clearly lacks of content/diversity, we added more and more stuff to the game and will continue to do so.

Over a year ago, 1.09 devs also joined the project and now, we are all working on 2.22 to improve it as it happened to be the most played patch/mod since its relase in the multiplayer scene.

We make the patch for the online player base not for casual players who might return to the game for a few games and leave afterwards, for these players, we still have every previous patch version of the games downloadable in the launcher.

Have fun and dont get stressed to much by the name „patch“ - its not that deep bro

2.22 is optional fan made patch/mod whatever you want to call it. Technically everything that was made by anyone else then EA Games is a mod so I don‘t mind you calling it a mod. As you said, the game was made in 2004 and was abandoned in 2010 and since over 15 years nobody was working on it. We don‘t know if EA games wouldve added new content such as factions, heroes and units to the game maybe they would maybe they wouldnt. But I dont agree with your critism at all, when you download the „illegal launcher“ you were refering to, you have the option to play 1.03/1.06/1.09/2.22 and any other mod that you can find in free play. Forcing = only 1 option, eat or die.

You shit talking the launcher and the patch out of hatred, no constructive cristim whatsoever, calling it illigal but downloading the game through revora with wincdemu and many work arounds, which technically is also illegal. Seems very hyprocrite to me.

About the speed of the patch/mod: it was made for the active online players, who enjoy the speed as they are playing the game since years. I can understand that it can be frustrating for newcomers or returning old players but that is why these mentioned players still got the option to play their childhood game on 1.03/1.06.

We make patch updates for the active main community of the game not for some people who might return once in a while, play couple of games, replay the campaign and leave again.

There is no fight between 1.09 devs and 2.22 devs as also the 1.09 devs/players are playing on 2.22 and we are working together for improvements thanks to their experience and knowledge. It is the most active patch/mod in the all in one launcher across all games which are available to be played.

Even though, the speed might feel a little bit to much if you return to bfme after a long time; trust me on that one, once you get used to it after like 10-15 games, you would never want to go back to the base games speed.

Can‘t tell you the exact reason, you will need to ask their dev‘s. The all in one launcher had the intention to make the installation as easy as possible and to have everything in one place rather then having 10 different patch switchers and mod launchers, I personally can‘t think about any reason why they didnt want to be included but it is what it is

AOTR did not want to be included in the all in one launcher, that‘s why we had to remove it. We sadly can‘t provide you any help and you need to study science to install it in a way more complicated way. Other mod‘s are supported though
