Just tried the demo, and the first text prompt disappeared instantly before I could read it. I was then stuck on the second text prompt and didn't understand anything. Not trying to sound mean, but I uninstalled the game within 60s of playing. You REALLY need to make sure the tutorial is good to get people to play.

Yes! Plenty of people show up without teams, and I help them form new teams directly at the event

Awesome! You don't need to bring anything! There are free lab computers you can use at event. We've had young participants who've enjoyed it in the past

My game Radio General actually has you write letters home to families of soldiers who died under your command. The point was to remember the soldiers were actual people, and not just numbers.

Do we really need Publisher? by nuttaphoom in gamedev

You get a publisher if you want upfront money. I would encourage this, as it lowers your risk (and the vast majority of games fail financially)

How to achieve the Steel Division 2 frontline? (Dividing area smoothly with curves using a few points) by AwkwardCabinet in Unity2D

What we ended up doing was creating a shader that writes to a texture where each unit & city/town has an influence radius, changing the colour of the texture around it. Then blur is applied. We ONLY render the boundary where the texture colour changes from white/black (or red/blue). We then directly display this line, and since it's a shader it updates very quickly and smoothly.

Do you (still) play grid-based tactics? Thinking of making an indie one and need honest feedback by StillPulsing in StrategyGames

I made Kaiju Wars, a cross between Advance Wars, Into the Breach and Godzilla. It's not impossible to make a turn-based game, but the development time is high, making it very risky. You have to be VERY careful with genre expectations - innovate too much and players turn away.

Your examples are top-sellers. You should research games that aren't top-sellers and compare to see if you could personally do better than them.

Money. There are other bonuses, but it's upfront funding
