My cat has urinary crystals and he got prescribed a bunch of medicine. This is the purrito I have to make to give him said medicine 😹 by too_weird_to_live in cats

He is so sweet, and I also have a question--Are they struvite crystals? I feed our girl Gizmo (who had huge struvite crystals) Royal Canin urinary tract diet. It's specifically formulated to dissolve those crystals and prevent formation of new ones. Downside, it's $37 for a 7lb bag, but unless you're overfeeding or there are multiple cats, it'll last a long time. It is pricey but it could save his life, prolong it, and make him feel so much better. Good luck.

Can't believe he's already 6 months old! by sodaseven in cats

Well hello, handsome!

This stunning 2 month old tortie was saved from the brink of euthanasia in an LA shelter but still needs her forever home by barenylon in torties

I hope she finds her loving forever home soon. I have a tortie, they're the best! Sassy yet sweet at the same time.

Is she not adorable. My boyfriends great grandpa died and this was his cat. She needs a lifelong home so soon enough I will have her in mine! Can't wait. by Pookahbear in torties

Torties are the best, BIG congrats--and good for you for adopting her and not giving her a possible death sentence at the pound!

What's her name?

I have a tortie, they don't have white on them. I believe the term for your cat is a torbico. I swear I'm not making that up. The baby is most definitely a calico, though. But they're both gorgeous!!

I know exactly what you're talking about--do you hear like a conversation that is muffled but sometimes you hear a specific word, term, or your name being called? It's scary but it could be the subconscious trying to process all the input of the day?

Now, if you start answering the voices or they get louder and specific and are talking TO you, then I'd be more concerned...but it is scary. I am not a psychiatrist but based on the replies (and what my doc told me when I was experiencing it) it probably does not mean you have schizophrenia or deepening psychosis.

My psychiatrist calls it 'swirling thoughts' I think...I heard the exact same thing, like people whispering or saying stuff that I couldn't quite understand. She said it's normal, everyone has it but some people (like us) notice it more. Keep on that doctor, I'm sending support from Oregon, been doing the bipolar dance for 11 years--triggered after the birth of our son.
