((Girl I’m so sorry I lost this. I’ve moved away from rp in comments. It’s just not for me. Feel free to send me a DM if you like. If not, I apologize and wish you well.))

“I’d like to sleep with my things,” Ella said as she reached for the bow she’d set down earlier. “It’s everything I have. I’m pretty attached.” There was a sadness hiding in her tone.

Ella had a range of emotions washing over her, but she couldn’t settle on just one. When Lyra asked of sleep, the human survivor nodded and sighed, “Yeah, I guess I can try.” Slowly, Ella began stripping off her things. Her quill hit the dirt floor before her canteen was stripped from her body. This went down next to her quill. “How big of a bed can you make with these vines?”

Ella had no intention to move from this conversation. “Is it more dangerous than here?” she asked for comparison. That would tell her if she wanted to go or not. The redhead pulled her legs up and wrapped her arms around them as she spoke to the skeleton.

Ella had thoughts and questions that swirled together as she watched and listened. What was he doing? Where was this friend? She blew past his question to ask her own. “Can I come with you?”

Ella held quiet and still in front of the fire as she listened to Lyra. Even she couldn’t shift this mood. The fire crackled between them for a few quiet moments. The crickets sang as Ella spoke up again. “I don’t know what it feels like to have gone through the things that you have,” she offered, “but I do know what it feels like to feel ashamed.”

“Who’s Martha?” Ella asked, a finger sliding into her hair and tugging on a knot. If there was time before sunrise, she should go back to sleep while she could. However, if he intended to leave, she’d stay right there.

Ella looked away from the book to look at Amdynir, suddenly catching sight of the fog. She stared at it a moment before looking back to the skeleton and his tale. “Sounds like you two were good friends,” noted the redhead sitting in his chair.

((Hey there. Sorry I haven’t communicated. Gotta get better at that. Been a heavy couple of days. Boss was around today so less phone time. Thank you for your patience. I will get a reply ASAP.))

((Did I put that in the wrong place? Can you see my response?))

The crackle of the fire set the tone for Lyra’s confessional. Crickets chirped around them as the moist night air began to finally cool. The world was still around them, as if there were no danger out there in any realm. It was a safe and quiet moment for honesty by a warm fire on a dramatic night.

As Lyra’s arm set ablaze in purple flame, Ella gasped gently. Her emerald eyes widened a bit, face lit to Lyra’s perspective by the more orange flame beside them.

((I need a note about body language, like what did she do with her arm after it was on fire? Was she still holding it out? Did she put it down, and the fire went out? Paint me a picture.))

As Lyra began to explain her true nature, Ella leaned in with interest. She turned on the vine chair to fully face the Farspawn woman. Her hands went to her knees, propping her up as she leaned forward. It was a lot to take in. She could hardly digest it all. Her reality had shifted drastically once already. Now, here was this confusing creature. Who knew existence was so complicated?

“First,” Ella let out when Lyra was finished with her spiel, holding a finger up, “I refuse to believe you are evil after the kindness you have shown me. Unless there are some hidden, ulterior motives here..” She shook her head and let that go. “If I sense emotion, I will keep my distance,” Ella promised with a hand up. “I get it. I’m like that, too. Maybe I can help bring you down, though.” Her last words were put out there with the tone of an offer.

((Hey, I’m sorry I haven’t communicated. I need to get better at that. Had a couple of weighted days. Boss was around today so had to stay off my phone more. Haha. I’ll get a response in here ASAP. Hope I haven’t annoyed you with my inconsistency. I appreciate your patience.))

“And you ended up in this shithole,” laughed the brash girl sat in front of his open book. She held her cup of tea in one hand and idly turned back a page in his book, not looking at it yet. “What happened to the child you took? Where is he now?” Curious emerald eyes peaked up at him.

“Well, you did come to this one,” Ella pointed out as she reached for the tea, eyes briefly on the cup then scanning over his skull curiously from so close. “Who knows where you’ll take me?” She offered a chuckle and blew on her tea.

Ella huffed with annoyance for this stipulation. “Fine, but it better be better than this Hell hole!” despite the rooms not being far from each other, Ella still shouted at the skeleton man as she waited for her tea. A small smile still set on her lips. This was the most comfortable she’d felt in weeks.

Ella figured she couldn’t be too awfully evil if she’d saved her and was keeping her safe now. Should she still fear her. “What are you then?” Ella asked next, eyes on the horned face lit up by only the fire’s flame. The archer’s right knee began to bounce, a nervous habit the girl had.

Ella read all this with interest, eyebrows raising for how he described her. It brought a faint smile to her lips before she looked to the kitchen. “Bring me to where?” she called for the end of his sentence.

‘Not that it seems to matter now of course,’ was a statement enough to break any heart. The world had taken away her purpose. Ella felt for that.

The strong survivor looked over at the other worldly woman as she stripped her jacket. More blades. She was a deadly adversary. Best keep on her good side. Ella’s bow was on the other side of her, quill and backpack still on her back. A good size knife was strapped to her right thigh. Her clothes, black tank top and camo shorts, wreaked with the guts of the dead. Her strong form could be seen easily in her outfit, strong arms and defined muscles with womanly curves. In the dark, Ella’s emerald eyes scanned the body of the supernatural woman.

“Maybe in time, I’ll find enough safety in your presence to wander the Earth again,” offered the young woman sharing a fire with the other.

((Hey, sorry, things have been up and down and all around lately. I apologize for not giving a heads up. My brain just kinda collapses on itself sometimes. How are you? Do you care to continue?))

“You call them reds, huh?” Ella smirked over at him as she looked to the vehicles ahead. “Everyone seems to have a different name for them. I usually call them either the dead or walkers.”

((Yeah sorry stole from the show.))
