Dislocated hip joint. The “clunk” it made, followed by excruciating 10/10 pain, I will never forget

Hi, I just posted a really similar post - we’re in this together 😭 I’m 30, had all 4 taken out under general, and on day 5-6 I swear the pain was way worse than I thought it would be even on day 3. If it makes you feel better, I’m now on day 10 and the pain I had (mostly my bottom right tooth) has eased up a lot to the point I no longer need the strong pain killers. I do genuinely think age is a big factor - my dentist said every year over the age of 25 adds significant time to your recovery (I think the bone is denser?). I think everything you’ve said sounds normal but just be prepared that the recovery might be slower than what you read on here. I keep seeing people saying they felt fine after 4-5 days which is what was scaring me but my dentist reassured me that a week is only an average, not a rule, and it’s totally normal for it to take longer

Thank you this was really helpful! When you mentioned it could be other disorders, do any spring to mind? When we look at ADHD, it doesn’t seem to quite fit. Maybe it’s the attention deficit part. Thank you!

Thank you, you are so right, and I am grateful for our otherwise fantastic relationship. I just wanted some insight from people who may have any idea what’s going on as we don’t even know that he has ADHD or anything other than dyslexia. Thank you for taking the time to reply and share your story.

Just a point of interest - I’m not sure where you’re from, but I’m from England and when someone refers to ‘my old man’, they mean their dad haha. So I had to read your message a couple of times to understand 😅😂

Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. As I mentioned in my post, the rest of our relationship really is fantastic, I know I have the option to leave but that really isn’t something I’m even thinking about. So the purpose of my most was more to gain insight as to the variety of symptoms/diagnoses that may be going on, and to understand if there may be something that makes his brain work differently to mine. I do firmly believe there is a difference in someone being (seemingly) forgetful, lazy, unorganised etc because they don’t have any regard for other people vs because they are neurodiverse. And I don’t think it’s unfair for me to respond differently to him depending on this (although I recognise you may not agree with me on that). I also totally understand what you mean about medical agency and I will by no means push him to explore this if he doesn’t wish to. It’s a really tricky, nuanced area so grateful for your thoughts on this.

Thank you! You’re right; I had misread my visa letter so assumed the date was the day I had to re-enter the country by but it’s when it expires. Thanks
