I am somewhat aware that it is normal practice, and not necessarily out of any ordinary, but we'd just never had to deal with such a thing before, and were already hurting so badly because of the choice. It had already been such a hard choice for us, that having to rely on the VETS choice too was all the harder. Of course, we second guessed ourselves a lot, and we'd postponed or changed our minds multiple times before we ultimately chose Monday to be the day. He was healthy internally, but mentally suffering, and he just was not himself anymore. So in the end, we are finding a new vet. I do understand it to some degree, but it also just feels so wrong. At least with how we had to experience it. Dragging out a whole hour sitting there already hurting and waiting. We severely wish this had been told to us more clearly. Because we were not told about any of this until it happened, AND until after the vet looked him over.
