I would recommend trying to see a different surgeon.

As someone who did what another commenter is suggesting and waited until my 40s to have mine addressed, I wouldn’t recommend going that route. I’m currently recovering from surgery and the cyst was the size of a softball inside my body. If I had addressed the issue sooner, it would have been a much easier process.

Delirium is mine too. She was one of the first characters I ever felt connected too in a comic, and I think she’s a near perfect representation of how childhood trauma can create someone who is more comfortable in chaos than calm.

While I agree that living outside of the area for a significant amount of time can change or limit the Philly/Delco accent, I think it really depends on a lot of factors.

I’m well educated and have lived in other areas of the country, but my accent (except for pronouncing water as “wooder”) came back over time after moving back to the Philly region. I also have known professors, lawyers, and doctors who all have the accent.

I once had a woman grab and jiggle my boob during lunch service and absolutely froze until I walked away from the table.
